Hey team,
I've seen a few 14's with highway pegs on them like you see on Harley's. I spend a lot of time on doing highway trips in Aus so I was considering this.
Anyone had any experience with them? And if so what did you get/have?
Dan
I've not seen any highway pegs for a 14, I'd like to though. You're not thinking of (looking at) the crash bungs are you?
There is one for sale with the pegs on them:
Check out this Suzuki GSX1400.

Fairly certain they're not crash bars as they fold up in one picture.
Have you tried contacting the seller through the ad and see where they got them from?
edit: I just emailed him asking that very question for you. :)
:onya: absolute legend!
I like that!! And the bloke had modded the seat, no more pushing into the tank. I'd be up for a set of those too I reckon.
These are them (I think) - you'd need to check they fitted around the frame downtube, but they look like they may be big enough at 1 - 1.5"

I see that seller won't post down under but there are ways around that (although I suspect you could source locally) - I'm happy to offer a post on service (at cost).
Loads of options though on eBay AU just had a look - search "highway pegs" there may be others that work (just check fitment around the frame)
The frame diameter is 32mm where the pegs would be mounted (about 1 1/4 inches) measured this arv when I got home.
I'll buy one and keep you all posted.
Yep, found them on e-bay. Not sure they're going to hold very tight the way they clamp, on a round frame. I think they'd be inclined to push forward.
pack with rubber and should be fine.
I'd make up a custom bracket off either the bottom or front engine mounts.
Not keen on trying to get them mounted solid and in the right spot by using their bracket clamped to the frame.
I was looking at some of the other ones on e-bay, they were all in 1 piece, across the frame. No good buying something off the shelf cause it probably wouldn't fit, but I could look at getting something along those lines made up to fit. Bit if trial n error, or just not bother, but when I'm on longer rides, I do like to stretch me legs out at times. Usually just bung them out in front of me, hanging there for a minute or so.

Least you'll be super comfortable on that lovely new seat! :onya: You'll forget all about the hairy magnet in no time. :happy1:
Pegs arrived the other day, hooked them up and pretty great for a 5min reprieve every hour or so on a long highway ride.
The attachments go straight out from the frame about 6inches and when their folded up the standard pegs hit first.
If you have rearsets I would remove the highway pegs before hitting any twisty roads.
Also 1.25inch clamps aren't large enough and 1.5inch clamps are too big so you will either need to go too small and warp the clamps (probably not a great idea but I did until the larger clamps arrive) or get 1.5 inch clamps and maybe use rubber to fill the gap.
I'll find the right pegs and post them later.
