Title: Hello from Yorkshire
Post by: Simonic on Tuesday, 28 August 2018, 06:55 PM
Hi everyone,my name is Simon and I'm from a place called Ossett in West Yorkshire.

Just bought my 14 at the weekend. I got a 4 plate in Black and Red 20k on the clock.
I got some good info from the Alternative GSX1400 page on fb which helped me checking the bike out.
I did not pay top dollar for this bike and did some heavy negotiating. I found a few issues at the time of purchase and a couple after.
I realize this is an 'introduction'post so i'll not start detailing any problems I've got ,but I will say that simply by reading this forum so far I've got a good idea how to proceed.
If I have any questions i'll be sure to ask and i'll post some pics when I can   :hat:

As to the bike's problems obviously the major issue is it's not Blue & White.....

Thanks for your comments gentlemen.
The mods that the bike has are the mods I would have chosen,i also got the stock parts too, including the Suzuki exhausts.
The Delkevic's do seem loud at a standstill but not so much on the move. There are no baffles in them either.....
I've ordered a few parts which will be with me this week I hope. The plugs and air filter look tired and it's running a bit rough so I've pulled the injectors and sent them for a service.

If your injectors are getting cleaned/serviced you'd be aswell Also cleaning the "tea-bag" low pressure filter and high pressure filter on the fuel pump with carb cleaner .
There is loads of info on how to in the forum just do a quick search .

Once you've done those bits balance the throttles & set both TPS. It should run sweet after that.

Welcome Simon,
As a polite request could you take those original exhausts to the local tip and send us a photo of them crushed!

One pair less to worry about 😀

Red
( I sent you the info on FB👍)
