He's from a little before my time but without him and his kind the stuff I like would have never happened.

Seth... I was thinking you were more of a Buddy Holly type of guy.. :happy1:

I grew up on Led Zep, purple, wishbone ash, Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull to name but a few.  Classic stuff that the youth of today would never appreciate as 'real' music..... jeez I'm getting old  :whistling:

My kinda music - still listen to it these days as well

When we had end of term concerts when I was at grammar school, we had a few bands that went on to be big names, Van de Graf Generator and 10 Years After to name but a couple. Also enjoyed Rick Wakeman (Journey to the Centre of the Earth), but my all time - Mike Oldfield and Tubular Bells. Think I wore that album out playing that.

ARH - you forgot Black Sabbath - how could you miss out Ozzy  :rofl2:

When young it was glam rock and cheesy pop.
then in the 80's it was proper British heavy metal .
iron maiden,U.F.O.,Saxon,Ozzy
ECT
Then added American hair metal  :whistling:
Have had a bit of a liking for a bit of northern soul lately but I played the wurzzels  Benny hill and abba on the bike box the pub was jumping
:boogie: :boogie2:

I'm very fond of the Zeppelin. It was all punk in my teenage years, but I had some older cousins who introduced me to the delights of heavy rock early on. And of course, if you had a bike you ended up in biker pubs with bikers, who weren't having any of this new-fangled shit on their jukebox thank you very much.

As I've mentioned before on here,
Robbie Plant lives (lived ?) near my parents farm and used to go 10 pin bowling with my sister.
He did a few songs for a local sick kids fund raiser playing at the local caravan park!

Real down to earth bloke, used to see him down the local pub, shops, calls in at the local college.   All the nicer when you realise how much he turned down to reform Zepplin.  A genuinely nice bloke.

Zep 4 was a favourite of mine too, also enjoy listening to Raising Sand with Alison Krauss. Such a talented man.
