Now that I have your attention . . .
Had a set of Pirelli Angel GT's fitted yesterday as recommended by a certain Seth on this forum.
I went for a 180 mile ride today (I am off till next Thursday) and I can say I am certainly impressed with them.
Yes new tyres are going to be better than worn tyres but thats not my point..
With the Michelin PR4's I was always aware of their sensitivity to road irregularities right from day 1.
In fact I had got used to bracing myself / the bike when seeing a road ridge that I was unable to avoid, in order to be ready for the pull one way or the other..
I went over just such a ridge today and nothing happened !
I know its very early days with these tyres but I am already a convert..
Thanks Seth.
S.
No worries buddy
I really like the Pirelli Angel gt's.
They are so sure footed and last very well .
They are not the cheapest by a fair bit but I think they are worth it .
Be interesting to see how they do on your bike with the way you ride on mileage as everyone rides differently.
Seth has a lot to answer for.. :rofl2: I too am an a Angel GTConvert...
@ARH The question is do you like them ?
:onya:
Try Michelin PR5's. Better than Angel GT's IMO, but then that's just my opinion - after all what's good for one, may not be for another.
Bring back the T20 I say . . . :stir:
I've not tried the Michelin so you could be right barmy .
I might need to try if they are cheaper than the Pirelli's .
As they are getting expensive.
I agree large variations in price for the same tyre at different suppliers locally - even some of the larger depots are more expensive than the independents, it's a case of ringing around and asking about prices for a couple of naked.
In all honesty between Michelin and Pirelli it's personal choice, myself I'm a Michelin man, but if the price difference was enough i'd consider the Pirelli's. But no other make.
My big problem is the place I've got my tyres for always did great deals but it's closed and with the move a bit more south finding a place that can do simular deals is difficult.
I looked at PR5's but they were actually a bit more expensive than the GT's... and any way between Seth and Grog (them being very esteemed forum member and all :notworthy:) I was convinced to give the GT's a go. Just over 1000k on them now and absolutely no regrets... great tyre. But then I would say that wouldn't I :whistling:

I've been getting that Michie 'ridge' issue too. My front tire is due a replacement so I'll try a PR5 this time.

great work Speedy. think i got my first set just after they were released. never a prob with Michys, tram tracking i just thought normal. Angels not moving around just amazed me, still does. the lasting mileage, i cant believe really. just a great tyre. keep pressure up, bit more picky than some. 36/38 i find good. solo and 2 up, i dont change. i let fr. down to 32 as experiment, you do it and tell me your thoughts. mate is a track rider and told me to try. horrible. am i gonna fall over, my thoughts. superb mod for a 14. IMO.
