With some major variation in tyre life feedback from another topic.
I thought it might be good to get a broader picture. Which will hopefully be good info for us all. Obviousely climate and conditions will be a major factor, so take that in to account when comparing responses.
Please give tyre details & kms/miles.
I'll start.
Angel GT's 11,000 kms (6835 miles)
Pirelli Angel gt's
I replace as pair's around 11-12,000 miles.
On Pirelli Angel st's
Used to get around 7-8,000miles.
Not used any other modern tyres for years .
Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact
220 € (set) incl. mounting & balancing
11000 km 2.2 mm profile left
Next one will likely be Michelin Road 5
Bridgestone T30 evos's - 5000 miles and they were done.
I guess its all subjective and down to how and where you ride, your bike set up etc etc etc....
I had two sets of Michelin PR 4:s, 16 000 km and 17 000 km.
Now I have Angel GT:s. We'll see.
Good idea
@Sweaty . :onya:
Was thinking about such topic, after someone posted picture of rear his tire.
It will be also good to measure how much tire protector is still left (millimeters).
I know, it's depending of riding stile, but will give general understanding how long could different tires be used.
Will post my tire infi tomorrow.
3 sets of Michelin Pilot Road 4's 45000kms.
It amazes me when l look at the dead tyre stack at the bike shop how some really are riding on bald tyres. I change before that.
On 5's now.
Michelin Pilot Road 4's 7,500 miles (12,000 km)
Pirelli Angel GT
9200 klms on side. I am going to guess 1100 klms on middle as it still had tread.
Better than I got out of ST. I will continue to fit Angels as I like them.
Michelin PR4. 12650 km + few (really just few) burnouts.
Front have 1.9mm left, and rear 1.1-1.3mm left (center).
Next season (after the winter) I would definitely put new one. Most likely PR5.
4500 - 5000 miles out of my Conti motions, don't last that long but only cost £74 so works for me.
@northern Is that a 55 profile? Just the pic looks very 'tall' not flatish like a 50.
@KiwiCol .
You right - this is 55.
@northern Just another question, do you drive / ride on the left side of the road in Estonia or the right? I don't know, but I'm picking Left side. Down under we're all Left, but I know some European countries drive on right.
Most European countries do the right thing :coffeescreen:
Only the island people have it twisted :stir:
We usually drive and ride on right side 🙂
Metzeler Roadtech Z6.190/50/17.
I ride nearly all motorway mile commuting, so the rear squares off long before the edges go. I've had anywhere between 4900 and 6250 miles out of the rear.
I generally fit 2 rears per year and one front.
The rear lasts longer during the winter as my speeds tend to drop a bit.
