Title: super black motor
Post by: grog on Thursday, 02 August 2018, 07:05 PM
ive used s100 engine brightener for years, makes 14 motor super black. even the front that tends to go grey. spray it on, lasts around 10 th. ks. problem was i couldnt buy anymore in Oz. 1/2 can left and wasnt quite panicking. today i solved problem. from usa it was $15 plus 75 freight. turns out harley shops stock it, $15. they also have harley engine brightener, $25. they reckon harley stuff is better, would have to be good. anyway, now happy. walking into a harley shop, might have to get a mate to buy for me. me, surrounded by hardlys, maybe a heart attack.

S100 is great stuff Grog...fortunately readily available here in EU at around 15Euro/can.

Not sure I would want to be seen walking into a Hardley shop either - maybe just keep your helmet on so no-one recognises you?  :happy1:

I wouldn't say no to one if they cost what they are worth rather than current prices. Couldn't have one as an only bike though.

I was driving passed Edinburgh Harley Davidson a couple of weeks ago. The site was empty. I'd only driven passed it the week before and the place was full. Found out that they had moved to bigger premises. The Grand Opening is in 2 weeks. https://www.facebook.com/events/482911945482701/

The big question is..........

Should I go along?  :undecided:

I'd lay money the Harley stuff is just S100 packaged in a "harley" branded tin.

What is S100?  a spray can of silicone?  The engine does look shiny, but silicone spray would do that as well.

Notty,it says on the tin that it's flammable,do you have to let it set or something before you can run the engine,,my brother sprayed his cordless drill with silicone spray when working on site one day and it looked bloody lovely but when he pressed the trigger it burst into flames ?.?

The trick is to immediately do over 60mph so the flames are extinguished !

Just ordered some myself via Nottys link

Had a look at the link you posted Dave (and yours too Notty, but they no send down here) The can of S100 was $16 AUD & shipping was $66 AUD making it $82 AUD / can which translates to over $90 a can for this stuff.

Seems perfectly reasonable I must say, think I'll just get 3 cans for now though.  :whistling: :happy1:   Yeah Right!

Yeah, there are.  I'll have a look one Saturday when I'm in town next.  Funny, but I don't usually go into the Harley dealership, dunno why that is ?

Col, the freight is outrageous, even to here. its worth getting, my cans nearly empty but lasts long time, really looks good. better than pics. ill have to get hardly stuff next time. give it a big wash, truck wash etc, then coat every black part. beautiful. i tried inox many yrs ago, rode 20ks to local garage, smoke pouring off. they nearly rang fire brigade. wish i had a piccy. buy the hardly, dont pay the freight, i wont.
