Took my silencers to my mate for welding last night at 9pm..
He did the job there and then whilst I waited..
Finished at 11.15pm.
At 6am this morning I fitted them back onto Sophie..
They look great buddy well done
:onya:
Looks the part Speedy :onya:
Nice comeback after the dog had chewed it last week :stir:
they look great !! :onya:
Quick welder. Changed also your rear tyre during that two hours ;)
Looks great!
Im aware of tyres..
will have to wait till next month..
Car failing MOT and bikes radiator have cost me £700 so far !!
Looking good Simon - sure it will sound awesome! Do u need a remap etc? My Campbell's do if u remove the baffles ? Confused in Cardiff !! :bugga:
Hi Notty..
I wont be messing with remap or power commanders.
I am happy with it as it is.
Standard silencers aren't very expensive on Ebay so if the novelty wears off I shall replace with the standard silencers...
we shall see.
Typically if you don't change the downpipes/collectors then you'll get away without a remap. Although k5s onwards tend to run lean as standard so are more likely to need a fiddle.
Hooli..
Mines actually a K4..
It was first registered in March 2005 hence the 05 plate

Zero hesitation and pulled like a train through the rev range..
Doesn't mean its running properly though Simon. My K7 was the same, seemed to run perfectly, then I had it dyno'd and it ran one hell of a lot better and gave a few more mpg. Still worth checking
how its fuelling on a dynothough, cost is about £30 for a run to check it, doesn't mean you need a PCIII or special map, but more peace of mind for the sake of a few quid
Hi all,
I have lived with the modified exhaust for 10 days now and so its time to give my thoughts...
1. Yes she sounds more like a 1400 with a nice deep growl. What I like is that when cruising at steady speeds the sound is not intrusive and I can quite easily live with her "voice" on long runs.. Tick over is best... Probably cos I get the full benefit without wind noise.
2. The standard silencers must have been pretty restrictive. I say this because she seems far more eager to rev higher than she ever used to.. Its not needed on the 14 I know but there is a greater urgency in her acceleration..
I will go and fill up a little later and then I can asses any effects on fuel consumption.. I suspect it may initially be worse because I tend (at the moment) to have her revving a bit higher that I normally do, just for the sound..
I will add to this post once I have worked it out. ..
Just filled up..
It works out at 49.6mpg
Thats about 3mpg down which I reckon will recover once I stop giving her the beans just to hear the sound..
Yesterday i followed in my ute, 14 with dual Akra. It sounded superb. Only in traffic, he was using less than 4k revs but was very nice. I prefer dual can sound but will never change mine, too lazy, no centrestand. Happy with mine. Campbells, now thats another story. Told b4, best 14 ive heard was 4 into 6 Campbells. Just awesome.
Been out for a 210 mile ride today......
I was riding alone and so at MY PACE and not coerced into being "over progressive" Occifer Lol
Fuel consumption was . . . 55mpg !!
I am well chuffed with that.
Dont believe me??
Bike was re brimmed and it took 17 litres to fill
17 litres = 4.57 litres to the UK gallon
Therefore 17 litres = 3.71 gallons
210 miles divided by 3.71 = 56.45 mpg !
I stated 55 mpg to give a true and fair reading...
They sound good Speedy :onya:
But 4.54ltr / gallon uk, won't make much difference :hat:
454 is grams to a pound as well.
Do you guys buy fuel in Litres but measure distance in miles? Bit of a mix isn't it?

We measure distance in miles - buy fuel in litres then convert that to miles per gallon...don't ask :bugga:

Ya should measure speed on Knots then you'd have a bit of everything in there
