Hi Everyone,
My name is Mark, I live in the Midlands, near to Mansfield and I have just bought my first GSX 1400, although I have yearned to own one for years.... so a dream come true for me. :)
Looking forward to many years of gsx 1400 riding.
Retired and living the dream
Another retiree - welcome! Well you've come to the right place for everything to do with 14's!
However.....

:welcome1:
Mark to all things 1402
You'll find loads of info and help here
I'm originally from you part of the woods but have lived in north east Scotland for the last 30 years .
Welcome!
Welcome to the home for retired bikers Mark :onya:
Welcome :hat:
Thank you for the welcomes so far. I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to tech and am still struggling to put a photo of the bike on here. It is one of the blue and white variety which a previous owner has kindly put an Akrapovich system on. Sounds very good. I will keep trying with the pictures
Welcome Mark!
Welcome - Croeso :)

Very nice - Akra, Hagons and HEL oil cooler - just one thing from the photo - your rear axle looks to be in the wrong way around, the nut should be on the sprocket side not the brake disc side (if I'm wrong apologies)
The picture is on! Can't take the credit though- my wife did it!
Hi gsxbarmy - I think you might be right, I had a K8 1250 Bandit which I sold to reduce the fleet size and the rear axle on that was the way you described - will look into it, thank you :onya:
Hi Mark & welcome to the forum.
Rear axle direction makes zero difference.
I have various Suzuki's and some go one way, some go the other way from new.
The end of the spindle can't turn anyway as it has flat sides.
I turned mine the "wrong" way on purpose, just so it matches my other bikes as I always go the to nut side. No ill effects in several years of use and misuse.
Leave it like it is, it's bound to annoy someone... :rofl2:

I think some racers do it so the can protects the nut in a crash too.

I think the reason the rear axle nut is on the sprocket side is that all single exhaust suzuki's have the silencer on the other side of the bike so having the nut on the sprocket side means it's easier to get at the nut for servicing purposes .
And it's become standard on suzuki's even twin silencer models .
As other have said there are flats on the axle so it can't spin.
That's my thoughts on it.
Welcome... I am almost retired... Only 25 years to go till 67
Busa and B-King use the same wheel etc.
One has the nut on the left, one on the right.... ;)
Welcome aboard Mark & nice bike
Welcome Mate
