700 miles from new :onya:
I'm winning bidder so far @ 3k :boogie: But.....
How much will it sell for, I think £6700
Drink up Bob, hit that bid button.........you can own it.
Ask Stoli about his bidding strategy, he had success one evening .............. :whistling:

What year is it ?
What colour is it ?
It's it's an older model with such a low mileage could be a few hidden problems from not being run .
Hopefully somebody buys it and uses it .
I missed that one - go for it :)
Ye i saw it couldn't believe it ... i mean ... 700 miles !! ... as close to new as you will ever get .

According to description its 2003 - yet in the first picture it shows it with a K2 tank, but the close up picture of the tank (picture 2) is that of a K3 tank....?????
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSX1400-700-miles-from-new/253759933342?hash=item3b15454b9e%3Ag%3AbiUAAOSw~TNbTw9q&_sacat=422&_nkw=gsx1400&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l2632.R2.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xgsx1400.TRS0
I have posed the question to the buyer to explain! I think the picture of the K2 (first picture) is not that of the bike you are buying but one he's got from elsewhere.
Something is wrong, that's for sure.
Something not right
So I've had a reply back - apparently the first photo is wrong - it should show a K3 not a K2 and advises that the picture will be changed tomorrow.
Which now begs the question where the K2 picture came from......... :whatever:
ITs a scam !!! .... seen a few similar before .... in my experience if its to good to be true then it usually is ! .... i mean why would you buy a brand new bike and then not use it :confused1: and lug it round as you move over the years or just leave sat in the shed for years ... it dont make sence :whatever:
Yeah, that sounds right & would explain the 2 different pictures.
I've seen issues with genuine new or very low mileage old bikes.
Many also need a fair bit of work.
Some work well but others really don't like being sat that long once they have had some use.
I thought it'd just be tyres, fluids, brake and clutch lines etc, but I've seen a near new 2 stroke that needed an engine rebuild, and another that went though several parts pretty quick when it went into use.
I'd love to buy it at the right price, but then I'd buy any big Suzuki at the right price, on fire, under water, driven over...
Yep, sounds very dodgy to me.
So no full photo of the actual bike & from what I can see, the tank has damage & it looks in pretty poor condition. Not what I would expect from a bike that has done 700 miles.
Less than 10 miles from me at Usk..
To me it doesn't look to be in very good condition. Mind you, if it's been sat in a barn all those years then it won't be.
I'd be very wary of buying it unless the price was cheap. Standing around for years not being used won't have done it any good at all.
I think this bloke has found a way to reset / flash the speedo. Take a look at the last pic, you can see corrosion around the edge of the clocks, on the chrome bit, but more importantly, look at the area around the set / reset black button, you wouldn't get wear like that if it's not been used. Can't say it doesn't show 700 miles though, cause it does.
Just read he kept it in a barn, so could be a damp barn which would give the corrosion. Dunno about the wear by the button though.
Reading the the add agian i think it is very very dodgy and already doing over 5k  someone is buying a hole load of trouble !!
The odd thing is how short is this bloke ?? the 14 is a big bike but it sure aint the tallest and he says he has other bikes !! ... what are they ?.. monkey bikes !!
I don't know, I think it could be genuine. I don't think it's a good buy, because it isn't healthy to have a vehicle sitting around unused for all that time, but looking at the ends of the silencers for example I could believe it. If you were to look up close you could probably see other signs too. Like no dents in the oil cooler fins, stuff like that.
But if you were to buy it you'd need to change the tyres, replace all the fluids (maybe the hoses too), flush the tank and teabag, maybe strip and check the brakes. It's a lot of work.
That's my thought, just to clarify.
When I say it's dodgy, I think it is a well used bike in poor condition, that is being sold off as a rare barn find. And some poor bugger is going to pay way to much for it 👎
Ye thats what im getting at to ... i think its well used and been clocked !
Do you know I was gonna post on here - being a suspicious old git.
1) Why show K2/K3 pics? Thats not a normal farm frontage in pic 1.
2) Quality of pic is abysmal. But, they do show bad corrosion in usual places.
3) Hardly great feedback?
£5200 with eight days to go...?
I have worked out the registration of the bike and its been off the road since 2013 (last MOT & TAX) - the interesting thing is that there is no previous MOT history (checkthecar.com) - my ZRX has been off the road since 2014 and all the previous MOT's are showing the mileage and history so like a lot of you chaps Im not sure on this one
Ive cleaned up the photos and the tank doesn't look dented the forks look cleanish and as said no damage to oil cooler but something is just a bit off on it as in the grab rail is well worn (could be form pushing it about the place
my adverts are always very thorough and all the photos I can get but that's me - todays generation take all photos on phone and list advert via smart phones
I think I've been a bit of a twat bidding on this
1/ I never noticed K2 in 1st pic & K3 in the others
2/ the tarnished clocks I did notice but tarnished casings didn't see
3/ that grab rail does looked well used I only saw that tonight
Just shows you, I've had quite a few of these but could of been easily caught out had the eagle eyes of others, ah well my BMW GS is away to a new home so need to keep my feelers out for a companion for my MZ Baghira
I hope I never have to sell my 1400.
I like mine so much l might clean it this arvo :smitten:
Local wreckers has a black tank, chrome headlight and a set of clocks in stock. All the parts that are damaged or missing from mine. I did think about it, but although better than what i have, all 3 items he has have marks or light damage, and all 3 together add up to near to $1000 !
Maybe not !!!!
Nothing wrong with the clocks you've got Tony. Ours can't recall stuff like yours can. My speedo corrector can bring up the highest speed with a few button pushes, but that's as close as we can to what you've got.
Nah, $1000, Better off putting it into gas & hotel accommodation for roadies!

I'll go with that... :onya:
Yeah, my KOSO speedo would be more accurate than factory as its quite easy to adjust for tyres sizes etc. I like mine but they don't really suit the retro style. If the bits had been cheap enough I'd have returned mine to a more original style and used the headlight on another ET build and the clocks on my Busa. I thought the fault code on the original clocks might be handy, I've used the one on my Busa.

I'd retract my bid if I were you. Until you have seen the bike in the flesh.
Amazes me he mentioned "Loads of bikes and cars". Yet virtually never used eBay. In 5 years. 5 transactions. Heck, I'm well above that - and I only have one bike.
Cases (the one you can see is rank). Grabrail. Oil/mucky hands or corrosion cannot tell from the crap pictures.
Still not removed picture of K2.
Avoid.
I don't know if it's genuine or not but I wouldn't bid on a bike I hadn't seen, no matter how good it looks in the pics.
Pictures can be deceiving, I bid and won a BMW K1100 a few years ago and the chap agreed to deliver it. When I arrived it was a bloody shed, covered in corrosion and looking very sad but it would not start and when he did get it going with a jump start from his car the ABS light was on so I told him to shove it, it's not as described so he had to take it home. He contacted me a few days later and said he had fixed it and the ABS light was off so do I still want it, er NO.
So as said above - K2 picture would be removed over weekend - and hasn't been.
I mailed him about the marks (are they dent's?) on the tank and the scabby handrail, also for history of MOT's - and no reply.
Silence speaks volumes. Don't think I need say more.
I think it got a bit hot for him with all the questions as he's pulled it now !

Well damn !!! :confused1: i hunted everywhere for it last night and counldn't for the life of me find it :whatever:
I'd be very wary of such a low mileage bike approx 5000 miles a year on it that's been looked after ie loads of receipts for service parts and other useful paperwork.
:frustrated:
Ye it does seem familiar to me too :confused1: but it looks a bit dodgy to me ... have you noticed the side panel missing ! :imrgreen:
& purple wheels!! Who'd have that! :stir: :whistling:
Down pipes must be damaged as they have been bandaged !! and its
PURPLE :rofl2:
@Stolichnaya
Must be a vodka fan to like purple.
Totally agree - the old saying of too good to be true really fits this bike. Hope I am wrong as treasure is hard to find - I say good luck to the buyer

Interesting though that whoever had the high bid in of £5,200 has pulled it, as it's showing less now
I think people are starting to realy have a think now !
I've been looking at the pictures further
On the 5th picture - the one looking top down over the tank - if you select that picture and zoom in, the engine itself and especially the casings are terribly corroded. Also looking at the chrome on the outside of the dials in the 6th picture, you can see pitting in the chrome. Wherever its been kept, it has been pretty damp IMO.
From the looks of it, it will want a lot of work to bring up to spec.
I think the bike is genuine, but just in poor condition (judging by the pictures) the main thing going for it is the mileage.
I bought a 2006 ZRX that had been in a barn for about 2 years as owner had passed away - it had about 9K on the clock and it had been put away after lets say an adventurous ride
it was fairly corroded and everything on it needed attention I only bought it as it was £1700.00 but the work it needed was incredible
The 1400 looks to be in a similar condition but I wouldn't even consider at this price - there are a lot nicer bikes out there at a lot less money - there is a lot to be said of a well maintained clean bike and Ive not see a 1400 that has not been reasonably well taken care of
Give me a high milage well looked after bike over a low milage abused or left standing bike any day of the week !
It's got the original spec BT-020 tyres on, guess that proves it's not been ridden as no-one keeps those longer than they have to!

As for the GSX1400 with 700 miles on the clock - to me this is a much better example (although whether its worth what the shop are asking is another matter)

same here- i am watching that, looks a good buy if the price was a little lower - i paid £5295 for my K5 with 2k on the clock 2 years ago. with 11 stamps in the book :)
I think mine was a bargain k6 17k very tidy £4000 ... good old willie young !
When did these things start going up in value? I paid £4k for mine with 7.5k on it 11 years ago.
Have you seen the new pics of the bike he's put up !!!.... it looks like the pics are from the day he got it and not a true representation of the bike now :furious:. and trying to say it was greased up !.... but that grab rail tells a diferant tail !!
This ad is just so wrong on so many levels the only way i would bid on this was if i was able to go and see it before i bid , its just all of a sudden become mint ???

just had another thought if youre selling it cause youre a short arse would you have not noticed it if you had already owned a K2 (as the add states)
Definitely at it
ye nothing adds up on this one !!
Yes it doesn't add up. But there are weird people out there. He is on fakebook. Not much about him there. Did post the K2 pic a year ago. Yesterday putting up K3 for sale on FB as its being bid on at ebay.
QuoteI always said id never sell this bike but last week i ended up in hospital twice with my heart playing up so my missus said i should sell them as the guy i was leaving it to in my will has passed away so no one to leave it to now that would appreciate it. So im taking her advice and having a clear out as she doesnt want to be left to sort it all out if anything happens to me. I dont need the money so whatever it sells for will go to a chikdrens cancer charity and hopefully it will do some good
That is also not consistent as he put it on the bay before his "heart trouble". I certainly wouldn't buy it but I know some people who can't get a straight word out, some of them liars and some just "confused".
Went for £4500 = $8700NZD = $8000 AUS
I know !! ... i just hope its not a white elephant for the new owner ? .. and who knows we may even see them on here !
$8000 aud for that   poor bugger will realise what he has bought soon.
I'll stick with my $2625 (£1480) Black Rat.
I rarely spend any money on it, it does a lot of miles, never had a drama with it, and it go's better than most I've ridden.
Maybe the new owner wants to have a decorative piece for his barn :coffeescreen:
Agree, we might see him on here. Be nice fellas :)
Hopefully he does find his way here .
Who ever brought it doesn't know anything except what it cost them .
If they need help and or support here is the best place to get it.

Does this mean we are proposing a "Therapy" section?
Cos I need therapy (so my mates say)..
here's hoping the seller was telling the truth but from the eBay ad and the FB post inconsistencies then I doubt it but if not as described then doesn't have to pay
Hope he makes it onto here be nice to see if it was as cleans as he said

From Facebook...
"Recently a 2003 GSX1400 with just 700 miles on the clock appeared on eBay.
Anyway, I was the winning bidder at around £4500 so I arranged with the seller to collect and pay for it last night.
I drove around 50 miles to his house in Usk, Monmouthshire and saw a very scruffy, rusty K3 outside the house and the guy was stood alongside it, I assumed that he had just acquired another bike and was going to clean it up, I waited for him to show me the bike that I had won.
Instead he said, "well, what do you think?".
I said that this wasn't the bike in the eBay photos to which he replied that it was!!!!
I was horrified after travelling so far, I told him that I wouldn't be buying it but he kept telling me that I won it and had to pay for it.
Every bit of chrome was badly rusted and every bit of aluminium was corroded!
I just jumped back into the car and drove off!
The pictures he had used for his eBay listing were taken several years ago, the present state of the bike bears no resemblance to the pictures.
So, just in case he relists the bike on eBay and anyone on here is interested, just ask him to take some pictures of what the bike looks like now, today!"
What an absolute Tosser :furious:, and is now just trying the same thing all over again.
glad the new owner drove away. had similar with a car once, drove, waited, was a piece of nothing like advertised. also reminds me, much smaller scale, the givi crash bars i bought off gumtree. hed just forgot to photo underneath where they had slid down the road. i was so annoyed i fixed them. brazed them up, re painted, now on my bike. pissed me off so much i just had to fix.
Remember that one well Grog :furious:
Good job on the fix up :onya:
Snap. Yep remember that as well.
the seller was wrong to advertise it the way he did but sometimes buyers don't know what they are buying either. I sold a Samsung a while back and the buyer threw a shitty with me for selling a fake, told me it was made in Korea.

Yeah you have to be careful on those dating apps.
The bike is back on and pushing £4k.
You mean like expecting your Russian mail order bride to look like Maria Sharapova but Helga the Tank driver turns up.
It ends today at 22:45 and it's already up to £5050 despite being told it is a fraudulent sale.
Crazy that it's still aloud to be sold once they have been told it's not as described.
:furious:
I wonder how long before it re-appears with yet more excuses that a second buyer decided not to purchase once he saw it.....
the fella and I had a few words - I suggested he get a newspaper and take some new photos - well shut me the fook up if he didn't - there fairly close up and there actually okay the casings are clean - will need fork seals soon and fork legs are corroding but over all it actually isn't that bad . . .. . . . no where near 5K okay as I reckon youll need to chuck another £500.00 or so to get it correct
Can't wait to see his feedback instalment next. 5k for 2 polished casings surrounded by suspect bike..... :coffeescreen:
Very carefully taken photographs!
It a shame that the bidders can't be warned.
I agree ! ... its easy to polish a couple of casings and put a news paper by them  what about the paper left there and a step back and a pic not just a close up .... its a polished turd !
They tried that on Mythbusters & no matter what they tried, they couldn't get a polish on it. (Turds)
:rofl2: :happy1:

Here are 2 pics seller posted on fb. Notice something!? :whistling:
On backwards? Why would you take that off if it's only done 700 miles round the farm? Off roading it?
Nope, that's not it Col.
Hint: That paper comes in 2 editions. One for those with "Argus Eyes" and one for the visually challenged.
Auction ended at 5600
Iknow worse than the first time  ... well we will see if it comes up on fb again ?
I'm a great believer in research before I buy anything major.
I've joined a couple of groups in the area I'm trying to buy a house even.
I joined an AU online bike forum when I was moving to AU from the UK.
I know not everyone is a fan of Facebook or keen on the Forums, but in this case either one should have set a few alarm bells ringing.
Once l had decided on a short list of bikes that might suit my purpose. I asked around, then l looked at the old Org for more relevent info.
I was pretty well up to speed with what l was looking at and looking for by the time l purchased my current bike.....l did test ride it before purchasing. To be fair though l was a bit intimidated when l first rode it. It had rubbish squared off tyres on it and it didn't really fit me. Though l knew l could fix those lissues.
Don't think l could bid blind on £5000+ ($10,000 nz) bike.
2 of my bikes were bought unseen, but within reason.
They were both models I'd owned before, I was clue'd up on them, and the price was at a "worst case" level that wasn't going to hurt me.
I would absolutely buy the UK GSX14 in question, even unseen, but it would have to be at a much more realistic price.
I'm currently looking for another Busa, but dispite having had a few continuously over the last 14 years I'm still cautious of what I bid on and what I have or haven't seen in person.
I buy a few damaged cars blind. I bought one that l went and looked at that was parked over a puddle. Wheels were a little askew but l thought probably a tie rod end......... wrong, lower arm, hub carrier top arm and engine crossmember.
Taking scuba gear next time.
An interesting thing about the Ebay auction is that another bloke that wanted it was only one bid behind the top bidder: Wonder if either had viewed it ?
Before buying my last three bikes I joined the model forum and did my research, it's not hard to the info you need these days.
Check his feedback - buyer walked again....
"Check his feedback", the buyer should have done that before he bid. Maybe he did but refused to believe :whatever:
i bought my bike online. was scary. never done anything like that before. from a very reputable suzuki shop, lots of phone calls about its condition. lots of promises it was perfect. they sent many close up pics. i sent many threats it better be perfect. all service history was sent, they had sold it new. i decided to go ahead. it was delivered to my shed by owner of shop. i arrived at home, was just amazed, a 20th k bike could be so wow. here i am 7 yrs later, best buy of my life. ive made it better, still look at it sometimes thinking its a perfect 10. i find some of the bikes on here a perfect 12 but mine is mine, a stunner. not doing research, bidding on something youre not sure about, buyers problem.

I'm not getting this sale, pics put up with current day's paper look really good, another buyer turns down the bike, mind you £5600 was strong money, I'd like pics by an 3rd party with nothing to gain

The feeling you've heard the sellers bullshit before !
see attached :furious:
Will he get the massage ? :whatever:
I bet he will try again to sell the heap. Maybe he will be a little more forthcoming about the true condition of the bike. Maybe the money will go to a children's cancer fond as he claimed on fb. I doubt both.
There is another one on now at 8000.00 + check that one out :boogie:
£8795 ???? FFS !! FleaBay fantasy world :rofl2:

Look to the far right of crappy pictures. Frame minging. Look at tax disc holder. Looks like it's been dredged from a swamp.

There's a perception sellers just have to list whatever on eBay. And buyers will fall over themselves to pay whatever figure they dream up.
I was looking at a bike on Facebook. Owner made an honest request as to its value. 2.5K was the consensus. Then on comes Mr Greedy. Chuck it on eBay. I'll bid on it for you at 4K to get it rolling. Needless to say - I stopped reading thread.
theres always the buy it for a £10'er and con someone in to paying £100 for it ..... bloody greedy b*****ds , i dont begrudge anybody a profit ! .... it makes the world go round but there's allways one :furious:

First time I've seen an earlier one than mine (frame 243 from memory).
He has now reduced it to sub £8000.00 :rofl2:
Bargin then :frustrated:
Some folk need to move into the real world
I think when EBay first came to our attention it was often a source of bargains. The problem is that many people have got it firmly stuck into their head that if they buy something from EBay they must be getting a deal and as long there are people like that the sellers are not going to pass up an opportunity.
There are also people who don't understand the market for what they are selling: "Oh look, there's a Mercedes here for £30k - I'll put mine on at £28k". The fact that theirs is 15 years older does not seem to curb their ambition.
It's back on again. New eBay account too. Shame as his other feedback was interesting...
At least its on a realistic starting bid now although another set of silly pics not showing anything of interest realy :confused1: , and as you say a new profile .... he's just a bloody scum bag
As you say same pics different ebay user name he even says readvertised due to time waster !! FFS - i have reported it AGAIN to FleaBay :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:
The guys got some balls you'd have to agree! :whatever:
Not only has he relisted it but he's moved house, lives next to Froudy now, maybe it was him all this time :confused1: , chancer. :whistling:

why didn't i think of that !! done nearly 700 miles between MOT's this year :)
Sorry to drag this up again but looks like the sale might have fell through again as its still not MOT'd or Taxed
Seller still on zero feedback... :whistling:
It's back on again - very poor advert :whatever:
Project for you John
:whistling:
It'll soon need to be cheap enough hopefully
:stir:
This must be the most (in)famous 14 in the country by now......
Just think - ,if you purchase it - you can say as seen on eBay most of 2018. :rofl2:
Ye i dont think i will ever think about the number 700 the same way ever again !
Its the only 'Saleproof' 14 on the planet.
Its already been sold 3 times in a month - currently 11 bids at £3500 :bugga:
Think i might text him on that number and see what he says.. Maybe ask about the paint runs on the engine case and the pitting on the ally etc etc. See what he says.
It's been removed from eBay again...
If it reappears AGAIN let me know...
As I'm probably the closest, I guess it's my duty as a member on here to actually message the guy and go and look at it and get to the bottom of the mystery :whatever:
the latest :bugga:
That's very strange
@Notty as there were bids on it..Maybe they were withdrawn :confused1:
What the hell is the seller playing at??
It was on yesterday :whatever:
He is probably getting his mates bidding on it.
Seems like too much of a dishonest tosser to have mates to me.
I was told a couple of weeks ago that sadly a friend of a friend traveled over 200 miles to see this, obviously he didn't buy it, it was advertised on Gumtree. The seller had the neck to moan about being let down by perspective buyers...
This one bike sure has created a lot of conversation on this forum.
You think by now he would have stopped trying to bullshit people. :jack:
