Title: Does this look right to you?
Post by: Speedy1959 on Saturday, 30 June 2018, 02:50 AM
My rear brake hose has been bugging me since I first got my bike.
The previous owner had replaced the Brake hoses with Hel braided cables..
Front ones are fine, BUT

I have never been happy with the rear.. It seems about an inch or two too short to me..
Also can I ask if the hose is supposed to bend on exiting the master cylinder.. The Caliper end is a straight stainless section to the Banjo bolt.
The Master cylinder has a slight kink in it..

Mine is the same
I was going to try and change the routing as it's marked my swingarm aswell.

Thanks Seth..
I was going to contact Hel directly and ask them to make the exit from the rear master cylinder a straight exit rather than kinked..
I had considered reversing the fitting so it angled upwards but I doubt the hose is long enough to allow that.

It just bugs me that is almost right...
But not quite !!

Right hose but fitted incorrectly.

Angle upwards then route down through the loop inside the swingarm onto the caliper. Fits perfectly.

Email and some pictures sent Simon, as I said, I used the old rubber blocks off the original line and put them on the new line where it goes down over the swinging arm, and also where it passes through the loop, just to stop any rubbing of the line or bodywork.
