Speed of loading pages & of posting. Thought it was my laptop. How to explain it . . . ? Click reply & txt box opens, write reply & push either preview or post & it takes ages or gets 'stuck' half way through, leaving a blank page, sometimes with a header sometimes not. Sometimes it eventually goes through, others not. Close programme & re-open it. It's just started doing this the last day or so. I've shut down my laptop & re-booted but the same happens, not every time though.
The above post went through as normal - just to make a liar out of me.
My page lags when I post.. Especially if I add a photo..
I usually click on the "Forum" button and it all appears normally with my post displayed.
Update from me, reckon my issue is related to the laptop as it's affecting every programme.
Usually "resolving host" (DNS) is noticeably slower than other sides. Yesterday it failed many times. I changed my DNS servers. No improvement. Made an entry to my "hosts" file. Now works like a charm.
I was going to write you about it first thing in the morning (well I did).
Thanks, I'll see what I can do - as always the more I can get from others re problems - the better / easier it is to track down issues.

I can only access via Chrome today, and it is taking ages to load, Firefox is timing out, earlier I was getting messages saying that the server had been moved, then error 404, when I signed in there was no sign I had been successful, I clicked back to forum and found I had been signed in
It's been taking a couple of mins to post for me, browsing is ok but posting just hangs on 'saving post'. Firefox on W7 at home & work.
ETA: Obviously this post worked perfectly to prove me a liar!
Vlad, I had trouble but did some troubleshooting on a different computer and seems like it´s my pc related. The site server wasn´t responding, denied me access (error 403) but with this one, at least now, all seems ok.
I am having issues posting, saying "server has moved" also "like" button missing.
Can be slow when posting replies.
What is the little red box on the left?
Think like button has gone awol.
Cannot post any pictures, I keep getting: The attachments upload directory is not writeable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.
I can see the little red box too, I clicked on it & it changes to black & shows "Null" beside it
OK there's some weirdness going on with the theme, which would affect some of these issues.

All the Avatar pics have now gone.
I got a strange message at home this morning while I was online with the forum, the screen suddenly changed to say "this site has changed it's server" or something similar. I refreshed a couple of times, same thing, then tried to open in a new tab, same. Then it was time to go to work. Least it's working (partially) atm.
OK for some reason some of the links have been corrupted.
The avatars seem to be working fine for me though? And smileys too :clapping: :shocked: :evil: :facepalm: :whatever:

Is the @ mention function working?
In any event as I can't log into the back-end from work (security and all that) I won't be able to resolve these issues until at least tonight my time, and its currently 10am.

Same for me.
Yep avatars have disappeared for me now too.
Super strange.
It will all be to do with the theme folder links as that's where text, avatars etc etc are all sandwiched under.
Hopefully I'll be able to sort this tonight.

Weird thing.
Yesterday I was discussing with Jeykey about SW Motech Alu Rack.
I wrote and added two pictures, and he answered to me. In the evening I didn't found those messages.
I just wonder where did I send my pics or why is that discussion disappeared?
There is nothing important in those messages, but it would be interesting to know why they are missing.

I had same problem yesterday trying a new topic with pics.
Yup I've lost the 'like' button too. Just getting a single character sized red block.
red block for me also. maybe its nth korean, upset at trump. arent they red block country. :)
On the bright side, it's not taking several mins to save new posts anymore so that bit is fixed.

AttentionOK well I have adjusted things and everything SHOULD be OK now.
If you have any issues try logging out, clear cache and log back in.

@Aldi I'm not sure - the things that were wrong should NOT have made any existing posts disappear. Is it still gone, or has it reappeared.
I can haz a like button again, not that I ever use it.

It went wrong almost as soon as barmy went on holiday so I'd blame him :stir:
@VladTepes - whilst I was away, I had a couple of mails sent directly to me by members indicating that a few posts had disappeared, I also notice there are a few comments in threads on here, where I've been going through all the postings this morning (now I'm back from Switzerland). So something happened during the "weirdness" that went on with access - but no idea what. The number of threads lost seem quite limited, so it would seem to have happened over a very short period of time I think.
Somehow though from reading the above, I doubt we'll ever know - but all seems good now
Somehow the directories changed, which I thought should only have affected the theme (and avatars, smileys etc).
It may (evidently did) affect some or all posts during a period between when "something" happened and when I fixed it.
This left me with two options
1. Leave it. Result as we have seen, a few posts made during that period disappeared into the ether. OR
2. Restore database to the previous days backup. This would also have lost posts, and quite a few more than option one.
So I just left as is.
Apologies to anyone who was affected for any inconvenience.
Vlad... I think you guys in Admin do a great job and I don't think the issue of a few lost posts is a biggie... Im not so sure many are in a desperate rush to be cleaning the exec bog anyway! :rofl2:

What device are you trying to login on T250? I find that what you are saying often happens when I try to log in on my iPad, but hardly ever (never?) on my PC
