Since I'm in the bar, may as well have a wee snifter. I'm on the Red wine atm, got myself a nice Merlot. What you guys having then? Aussies will be into it soon, 'Northern' lads are just starting out for the day - grab a cold one & get the day off to a good start!
Tab is open for all comers, cheers chaps.
'Northern' lads just plannig work route, cause trafic is terrible, because of every major road is under construction...
But Merlot would be much better...
Lemon, lime and bitters please.
Last drink was in a pub called "The 3 Crowns and Sugar Loaf" where the Bridgenorth Rd meets Kidderminster. That was July the 4th, 2007, My daily reminder ap tells me today is Day 3,993. I think I'd shifted my lifetimes quota by then so after some advice I called it a day, hence I'm still alive today! :onya:
No regrets, I had some great times.
Enjoy your weekend folks and have one for me!

Really well done buddy, and extra cudos for being open and talking about it.
I think I am good for going dry two months of the year!
I don't drink constantly, but I can be a bit of a binge drinker, I have, since retiring to France reduced my drinking a lot - it was usually Friday night blow out with top up on Saturday night. Now I just have a glass or two of red on the odd night or a couple of glasses of Malt. Much different to a dozen beers, two bottles of red and 3/4 of a bottle of Malt at the weekend. need an emojo with empty glasses :cheesy:
Col, as the Sun is shining, make mine a Bordeaux.
11.10am isn't too early is it? :whistling:

Thanks. It was a bit of a problem for several years, but it got worse.
At the time I convinced myself it was normal, funny, and just the way life was.
Looking back, I was further in denial than Cleopatra's boat ! (De-Nile! ... LOL)
Once I faced that drinking wasn't for me, things got a lot better.
I'm not anti drink, it's a great thing, it just doesn't suit everyone.
It took me a while to realise that in my case, I'm better off without it.
Edit: As someone who treated drinking as a competitive sport, being stone cold sober on my Wedding Day, 50th birthday, Xmas day and New Years Eve, all within a few weeks of each other was a very strange experience !
being an old prick now, have only drunk mid strength beer for 20 yrs. i do drink lots, i function perfectly. my mates still do heavy beers, rum etc. they say they never get problems. i disagree. cold turkey tony, your choice and a good one. mid strength has been a good thing for me, reckon id be a mess if id kept on with full and spirits. lots of mates have smoked gunja for around 50 years, most have lived great lives, achieved lots. different strokes they say. one mate, 63 yrs old, first thing in morning is a cone of weed, always been same, hes a class 4 ships engineer, more money than can spend. as i said, different strokes.
