Hi all
Has anyone else noticed that after fitting EBC pads on the front there is rattle?
In my case its most noticable at slower speeds... I can demo it if I pulse the brake lever at slow speeds..
if I jack up the front of the bike and rotate the wheel then apply the brake I can see the pads move upwards in the direction of wheel travel and clunk against the carrier.
It's as though the pad metal backing is slightly too narrow and this allows excessive movement of the pads in the carrier.
I have tried bending and altering the anti rattle spring but this seems to be only a temporary cure as the ratyle is back after a few long rides.
Mine does the same thing, I think it's normal. I can hear it when moving the bike in garage with engine off and every time I press brake it clunks.
EBC did the same for me too.
I now run the dirt cheap (£10 a side) cheapos from Wemoto, no clunk & as far as I'm concerned better brakes.
I temporarily had the rattle (clunk) too. Wasn't there when new, but appeared after I had taken the pads out for cleaning. I didn't pay attention to previous position of the pads, so I assume I switched them. After a couple long rides (400km+ each) with some purposeful breaking, the rattle disappeared. Has stayed away for the last 2k.
Edit: also check your pin. Mine had a wear "point" to it (got new ones).
Thank you all for your fast replies...
