Purchased the Delkevik down pipes and collector and on changing over from standard to these I have encountered a problem..
Cant get the copper gaskets out to replace them with the new so started trying to get on out with a screwdriver but all Ive been able to do it break the outer copper and get through to the steel wires inside but it looks as If its completely welded in place.
Any ideas would be great guys
Cheers
These the gaskets at the head I assume you're referring to? They won't be welded, maybe cooked into position but should still come out. Try some penetrating oil around them, leave for 30 min or so & have another crack. If still no joy, do it again but leave overnight.
Worst case, use a Dremmel to grind the sods away!
As col says they will have stuck in due to heat and age they will come out .
I tend to use an old flat head screwdriver down the side then leaver them out one you get them started they should come out ok then clean every thing up before reassembling .
Good luck

amendment for Seths post above, he's not meaning "hear any", what he was actually wanting to write was "heat and" :rofl2:
