On the way from Settle to Malham cove look what roams free.
Theres a heard of about 12 of them but the others were far off.
Good job they are placid..
I got off my bike and wandered closer with my phone..
My mate wouldn't get off his bike.. In fact he had the clutch in and gear engaged in case it errrr "Charged" !!
We then stopped in this stunning little village called Arncliffe.
Really isolated and unspoilt..
Great looking Village alright, like going back in time :onya:
It was unspoilt till you hoodlums turned up on yer 2 wheel contraptions making a racket & scaring the locals ½ to death with yer rowdy exhausts! :stir: :whistling:
Have a beer did ya? Sign says it was pub of the year, but probably only 1 pub there. :happy1:
Yep the only pub in the area Col..
I had a pint Traditional lemonade and "old fashioned crisps"..
As for noise.. My 14 has the standard twin pipes..
My mates Honda CB1000r has a much noisier after market exhaust !
"Traditional Lemonade" has a good swig of Vodka or Gin doesn't it? :confused1: If it doesn't, it should have!
No its none alcoholic mate..
Its cloudy and made ye old way....... Apparently.
The aforementioned mate (Steve) has just turned up so we are off out to ride "some more of the passes"..
Talk soon mate
Simon
Have a great ride Simon.

Prefer Ribeye or Fillet myself, but, having said that, in Aussie, most of the time we got served rump when we had steak & never had a tough one. Rump here is usually tough. I won't draw the analogy of hard arses over here & soft arses over there, oh wait, I just did didn't I?
we are hard arse people but never let our cows sit down, hence, rump is good. never seen a cow sitting.
I have just copyrighted a padded Cow Seat, as I do not like animal cruelty, but do like a nice steak

A meat seat? interesting . . .
Gawd, look what we've done to Speedys 'nice day out' thread, ended up talking about Hard Arse Aussies, Steak & a Meat Seat!! O how we have wandered, but, since he's not here to protect his post, carry on chaps. :stir:
Sweaty, im not cruel with my steaks, i cook gently. have you blokes tried oven cooked steaks/sausages? much better than pan or bbq.
Ok then Col :smile2:
This is another way we keep our meat tender. We don't let them walk
I prefer my steaks cooked sizzling hot on bbq plate so that the outside crispens up while the inside is still moist & just off red (Rare to Med Rare) Doing it in an oven would tend to 'stew' it wouldn't it? Unless you're talking about a whole lump of meat and cut it up afterwards.
I do braised sausages & steak in the oven quite often, but it's more of a casserole type thing, with gravy etc.

Might try that out Grog :onya:
Poor Speedy will not know what has happened when he checks in after his ride :happy1:
200 degrees c, no stewing. cook perfectly. try snags first, yum.
As it happens, I've got a pack of nice 'Italian' sausages in the fridge, due to be cooked tomorrow night. Will give it a whirl & see how it goes. 200C, I'd say 15 - 20 min oughta do it? No basting or turning?
Yeah Col, let me know. Keep an eye on them. At least 20/25 i reckon
Roger that Grog.
Sorry mate, was a bit rushed then. Worrying about tonights food. Only way i cook snags now is oven. Gotta just check your own oven speed. When we stayed away it burnt all at same temp time
Dont talk to me about cows!!!!

Bit shitty if its name is Pat :)
Wow a cooking theme..
I love a good steak myself...
Would love to sample the world famous Oz Baaaarby !
Col here is a bottle of the Traditional lemonade I was on about
Didn't get to do another pass but went on a excellent ride nonetheless.
Pretty warm today, so I was riding with my jacket half unzipped when a bloody big insect of some species hit my throat and slid down the inside of my T shirt !! I could feel it wriggling on its way south. I didn't want to wait till I found out it was a wasp or Bee, so I whopped (technical term) on the brakes and did a superfast top half strip.. I don't know what it was but it was like a ginger blue bottle with red ruby eyes !!
Better out than in as they say.
Yep, I can see it will definitely be improved with the addition of a double shot of Vodka.

You're halfway there mate. Sear it over a high heat first to lock in the goodness, then oven cook it at a lower temp til it's cooked to taste*.
*The correct answer being "medium rare" IMHO.
