Hi all
A big ask but has anyone got 2 GSX14's and can loan me one Fuel Pump Relay please?
I just need to remove mine n test another as my bike was in for MOT today and was running for 5 mins then died.
FI is on and code C41 which is fuel pump / relay related. Before I buy one I'd like to test it as if another doesn't cure it, I know it's not that before I start chasing my tail.
I'm happy to pay postage and buy tea or brekkie etc... I'd like try eliminating stuff.
I'm based near St Ives, Cambs and can be got in 07979 746755 or PM me please.
Thanks for any help in advance... 5 months of prep for MOT and the bloody thing fags out as I'm about to set off.
Stoli
I've got 2 Stoli, & you're welcome to borrow one. I'll put the kettle on, see ya in 15 min?

If only.
I nearly took a hammer to the bike yesterday
Don't do that mate, take to yourself with a few beers! Ya know you always do your best work with a few under the belt. Just look at all those midnight E-Bay purchases you did . . .

Seriously mate. I nearly went full attack mode.
It was sat there running, warming for 1st ride in over a year, I was getting my jacket on to set off for booked MOT after 5 months rebuild it was all coming down to right then and it just stopped.
FI light on. Dead. Managed to get the code and spent an hour frantically trying to trace issue with pump or relay. Barmy was ace with info n tips as was Seth but in the end it's dead. Cancelled MOT.
I can only imagine the disappointment, would be huge. You'll get it sorted, just not today. A pisser for sure, but you'll get it in the end.

This was yesterday. Today I'll get the tank off n connect the fuel pump direct to power to see if it's that. Removes that from list of issues.
Just gutted as the amount of work gone in this year huge. It's been sat running fine most nights. Just 5 mins before set off it fags out.
Hence reason for asking to borrow relay. Just to see if different one works I know it that n can get one.
It's f you're on messenger I can fire you pikkies of bike. Org will only allow pictures of pictures!! From my phone
Very sorry Stoli to hear of her tantrum.
I am a placid person mostly, but must admit that would REALLY P**s me off !!
On cars a lot of relays are common and can be interchanged for testing..
Is there not one on the bike that looks similar that can be borrowed?
Your idea of direct wiring makes sense...
You will hear it prime..
When its cut out does it re start ok?
Or if you turn off the key then turn back on do you hear the pump spin up ??

Thanks speedy. The bike is dead. No prime.. nothing. I tried to trace the wires etc but the tank/fuel system is about the only thing I've. It been near!
I don't understand it at all. It was running and stopped. I've started it a few times in last weeks to run oil round n burn off the exhaust wrap crap.
So it's been in rude health. Then about to leave n duh... stops.
I did notice the revs in 1st start up we're 1200 as usually then noticeably dropped to 1000 and while I know they drop off choke I noted that dropped more than usual then off.
Code C41 on check.
There is no light in the PC111 either.
Just extra pissed off as yesterday was 1st time bikes been back together looking quite stunning and I gotta take it apart.
Bloody thing. It's lucky it's not a bike of very expensive bent bits this morning!
Check the battery voltage & the terminals are tight. I'm sure there's a main fuse there somewhere too, Seth or Dave will know where to look.
Ok, the main fuse is located on the starter solenoid & there is an ignition fuse in the std fusebox, position #4. Check those Stoli.
As we discussed yesterday Stoli, also try disconnecting your PCIII and try that.

Did that Bud. Oddly, there is no green power light on the PC111.
I thought the bottom light was always on ? And the leds went up as revs ruse
That 'no light' narrows it down, either there's power getting to the PC111 and it's stuffed or, there's no power getting to it. Check that main fuse & the ignition fuse. Either of those could blow if there's a bad / loose circuit on that main loom. Hence check battery terminals too.
To be honest i cant remember if there was a green light or not. I know the leds went up and diwn with revs though.
Did you disconnect the PCIII from the big grey plug under the LH side cover that the PCIII connects into and reconnect just the 2 halves from the standard loom? By disconnect, i meant "undo the big grey plug"......
Could also be a loose earth.

No I didn't. I'll do now. Just rolled bike out. Sweep floor so I'm not sat with fat ass on drive bits n I'll get to work.
Fresh eyes this morning
Right. Defo not PC111.
Disconnect n plug in as std. same result. No prime. FI light.
Stoli and Bean :rofl2:

Stoli and Bean :rofl2:
I fully intend to spend time with Bean later.
Blaming her that my bike won't start
That's a cracker Dave!!
Anyone wanna buy a GSX...
Does it come with a 'bean'?
I want a 2nd one. Send her on over, I'll pay next century :imrgreen:

You'd be a husk of a man in minutes.
Takes a special breed of catch like my good self to keep her in check.
No no no, just thought ya might be trying to unload 2 'problems' in 1 hit, no bean? yeah, could be tempted then.
Been there & done that 3 times already, I may be slow, but I do learn eventually! Won't never be a 4th. :rofl2:

I've just told bean you said she's a problem ...
she's just packed her best boxing gloves n said she'll see you shortly to give you a problem !!!
Eeek HIDE !!
Bring it on, I've got German ancestry as well. 195cm & 135Kg, not too much bothers me . . . except a bit of indigestion now & then.
It's a problem when she drinks all your booze !!
Send her down then, maybe with Dave next year, I'm sure we'll find plenty of booze to satisfy the need. You may as well come too Stoli, what a hoot that'd be! Lord & Lady Barmy and Stoli & Bean.
Anyway, haven't you got a bike to fix? Sunday morning n all, get into it or are you getting ready for church?
Sorry Kiwi. I don't do those fancy Dan flaying machine contraptions.
Right. Back to seriousness...
It's not the Solenoid. Just tested n it clicks perfect
So. Tank off n get the pump out!!
Given its not the solenoid - and at Stoli's request - this thread now locked.
