Title: "Tuned" my rear springs
Post by: Speedy1959 on Monday, 07 May 2018, 03:26 AM
Right now that you have clicked on this post you may as well carry on reading..

This is a pretty obvious tip but there is a chance its new to you...
Just use a piece of wood and tap the rear springs..

Tap the springs and listen to the note.. Yes seriously !!

Mine were different by about 3 semi tones...
I altered until they were both singing from the same page..
Its a VERY simple procedure that guarantees your springs are both at the same tension !

Try it....

I'll do it. Will be interesting to see if I am able to hear a difference... or anything at all. Has to wait as I am getting up early to ride all day. Summer temps :boogie:

That's the best way to set a Ducati cam belt, set it by sound.

Mjgt, funny enough, thats how i set drive tension to cams on old bevel drive Ducatis. The sound, used to know it perfectly. Miss those motors, unreal donks. Set them up, biggest prob was 10 mins of slow to warm oil, 5 litres of 50 weight. After that jist flog them. Last forever.
