Title: Ebay listings...
Post by: Basil Brush on Thursday, 03 May 2018, 12:07 AM
Now wrong side of 55 - I qualify as a grumpy old man now... :salute:

Do some eBay sellers think people are stupid. I've been looking at buying a small classic 80's bike for a while now. something that is far lighter than the 14. Something to tinker with - and when that day comes. Downsize from the 14 when the lump becomes a bit of a handful.

I've followed one particular bike. Twice it has been re-listed. On two separate occasions it sold with one bid. Then re-appears the following week. With the usual statement. "Due to buyers change of circumstances, they are no longer able to proceed". In other words. I'm a greedy twat. Priced it over the odds. killed virtually all interest. So, got my mate to bid. Unfortunately he was the highest and only bidder. So - here we go again - have another go mugs.

Rant over...ride safe everyone...

I'm 48 this year.
I feel old and I'm most definitely grumpy !!!

There have always been wanker sellers but in the old days of the trading post and classifieds - people had to engage person to person, or at the very least over the phone.  Much easier to smell bullshit that way.

With the relative anonymity of the internet people will say/try anything from behind their keyboards.

Maybe if you give us the listing we can bombard him with questions about why its so overpriced...  :computer_type:
