My friend recently got a job at a motorcycle shop and they was able to sell me a top sellerie france deluxe seat fairly cheaply. Nothing is wrong with my bikes original seat but unlikely to get such a good price for an aftermarket seat again so grabbed it while I could but not entirely sure if I'm keen on it. Sadly been raining today though had to go pick it up in the rain and I rode back with it but still gotta ride out more with the seat to determine whether it's comfy or not though does make the riding position feel more sit up and beg which I'm not too keen on but we'll see.

Just wondering what you all think to the look.
Ignore how dirty the bike is as had only got back from picking up seat lol, needs a good clean now: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HpIq1XZnv9KNtN5p1
First image (in those links) with it in the sun is the original seat (obviously). If I end up not liking it I'll probably end up selling it.
edited by admin: added photo :)
Have to say I'm happy with the original seat although there are some nice aftermarket examples about. Not too sure on that one you bought though, looks high at the back restricting access to the grab rail and looks a bit 'rounded' at the front...Maybe it's the photo?
Grab rail access is unaffected though does look like it restricts it in the photo but isn't the case. Do agree on the rear of the seat looking looking too high and the front is quite rounded though photo makes it look more rounded than it actually is. I've added another photo of the seat from the other side of the bike, you get a better sense of the shape of the seat.
Yep... clearer now....it does look very comfy :onya:
yeah true just not sure on the looks lol. On one hand looks sportier than stock but at the same time think the rear seat is too high up and doesn't flow with the lines of the bike if you get me.
I quite like the look of it actually........if you do decide you want to sell it :mwink:
Gaz
The look of the seat is OK, but it's hard to say more without test ride. Looks comfortable.
It was quite expensive, if I remember correct?
Not keen on the look of it, but if it is a lot more comfy, i would keep it.
I'm with a couple of others..I'm not keen on the look of it to be honest.
I find the OEM seat is ok comfort wise, but could do with being a bit higher..The one in the photo's looks to be even lower than standard at the front...
all about comfort. no way id swap mine back to original. bit high at back also mine. looks better for real than in pics. front is lower , rear is higher. take yours for a ride and check it out. with mine, i get stopped sliding back, for two up i fit sheepskin, one at front covers whole seat then an extra on back for her. stops us both sliding, especially her, under brakes . nothing annoys me more than pillion banging into my back when braking. all fixed with my option.
That looks good, comfy and practical

Given the bike a quick hose down, couldn't be bothered to get pressure washer out especially as it's meant to be raining later on but anyways went out for a shortish ride parked up at a near by ww2 memorial and took some more pics of it and have added it to the photos.
Looks wise it's growing on me slowly, comfort wise I still need to do a really long ride but does seem quite comfy tho not sure if it's anymore or less comfy than stock. Will say though that it's heavier than stock having a metal base rather than plastic and so it's a bit more cumbersome to take off if I want to put anything under the seat. I took my brother out on it for the first time with the new seat and he found it more comfy than stock and ironically is able to hold onto the grab rail better as I'm a big lad and the seat means I have to sit further forward and so he gets more room. Have also found because of the riding position being higher up and further forward it puts more strain on my wrists but not entirely sure. Still undecided but it's slowly growing on me but still not sure lol.
Hi Mike,
I think they are nice looking seats but it does look lower at the riders position, does it have a gel insert for rider and or pilly?
They can be built to suit if you wanted to alter it.
Selling your old seat could pay for the personalisation! think they go for around £100
Red
defo higher up on the rider position, I put standard one back on and felt like a smaller bike lol. Not sure which one this seat is but you can get them with gel in them and also a heated option with separate rider and pillion controls.
Must be the rear thats higher then Mike!
I have a viper seat on mine which required building up again as was 2-3" lower than standard.
@grog is that a John Moorhouse seat?
is Guzzler, not sure on blokes real name. best seat ive ever had on any bike.
Here is the gunfighter seat John Moorhouse did for me (Brisbane) :onya:
Yeah
@GSXKING very similar to the one John made for my bike.
Thanks
@Bov ;)
