Title: Lady biker NEW
Post by: Paulpmy on Sunday, 15 April 2018, 04:40 AM
After many years of talking Diane onto the back of my bike , I finally got her on two years ago , she loves it that much that tomorrow she is doing her CBT , she picks up a new 125 Tuesday and she booked to do direct access later in the summer , not bad for a lass that two years ago wouldn't get on the back , very best of luck for tomorrow wife !!!! Keep it rubber side down

More encouragement for the ladies guys

Well done Paulpmy & very best of luck to Di.
Mine loved to go on the back, then wanted to ride (great) She brought her own bike to learn on & was doing good, then there was a spate of bike crashes locally & 'friends' were telling her horror stories of one of the crashes. A woman, just like her, wanted to ride, loving it, had not long got her bike & licence, killed by turning right after a truck n trailer without checking & straight into the path of a car. Wasn't the cars fault.  The scenario hit a chord with her & she dropped riding after that.
Sold the bike a few weeks ago. Now I had that wee off in December last year, she won't even go on the back.  Mind you, she has said if I get a Goldwing or a K1600GTL she'll go on the back, wants an armchair to sit in.

Anyway, best of luck Di & Paulpmy & keep safe!

Sounds familiar Col, Mrs R always says she doesn't want to leave our son parenthess so won't ride, but at other times says I want a seat like an armchair. Go figure!!

My Mrs was the same, loved it on the back but hated the idea of riding.. After a few years though i convinced her to do her CBT and she has never looked back. Her first big bike was a Yam MT-09 which we both loved so much that she got another new one last year. She still loves pillion though which is a PITA but hey.. I am sure she will be fine. Good luck

First present I bought my wife was a Kawasaki Z200, she had no idea how to ride it so we spent a few hours on the disused car park just down the road from us to get her used to the controls and we were out on the road within a week.  She had a couple of bikes before taking her test (pre CBT) which she passed first time and within a week of that she was riding my GSX1100 which went like stink with her on it.  Then she progressed through a number of bikes including a Honda CB 605 (formally a 550 but bored, tuned and modified to twin disk), a Les Harris Triumph Bonneville, Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster, Honda CB500 and finally a Suzuki SV650.  When we lived in Scotland she rode to Aberdeen everyday for work (35 miles each way) and clocked up a lot of miles.  Since moving to this area she has sold her bike and is happy on the pillion.  Good luck to any ladies out there who ride bikes, there seen to be quite a lot, when my wife started there were very few.

The big lap won't be on a bike Owen, car & caravan or motorhome - dunno yet, but if I had a toy hauler, I could have a bike stashed in the garage part easy.

Mrs Notty did try an electric bicycle - they told her how to go but sadly not how to stop stop so she careered across the car park and hit a car and slid over the bonnet - it was a Porshe -good choice !! That experience destroyed any chance of progressing to a motorbike - not allowed to mention the incident  :bugga:

Post by: Paulpmy on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, 03:28 PM
Hi Chris following our conversation today I'm putting in writing the complaint from Sunday training at clay cross

Saturday 14th April 2018

On Saturday I brought a new 125 for Diane to ride when she has her cbt,she told the salesman that she way doing her cbt with compass next door

He said 'he had just seen the instructor who was doing the training and he said to him ' what I've I done to get two women that have never rode before I ignored this comment from sales as I took it as just banter but not impressed I said nothing to Diane at this stage but she was there and heard the salesman as I did

Sunday 15th April 2018

I arrived at cmc at 8.15 for Tracy and Diane to commence there training at 9am
On arriving I discovered jay was doing the training
He asked me to go fetch him some cigarettes from the garage as I did while he took two bikes out the training room 500cc I think both white with the registrations one letter different when he got his cigarettes at around 855am he opened them and had a smoke he then just after 9 am took all three delegates to read a number plate and checked driving licences then had another cigarette while having this cigarette he was explaining to the ladies about not holding the throttle too tight Diane said I know I had told her as gentle as holding a budgie

He asked the ladies if there husband would wipe there backsides ,the all said no
He then said well they would have to as they wouldn't be able to do it them self's if they hurt that muscles  he will also not be happy as you not be wanking him either as he was doing the action of this act as well if you have cameras up you will see this as it was outside near compass door  , I was going to comment to jay about this but I thought not to upset Diane's day and left the matter
All three ladies looked at each other not saying anything but the look on there faces was enough

Jay explained he only trains one way and if people don't like it they can fuck off

I said my goodbyes to my wife wished her and her friend good luck and told her I be back later to come to the event that was going on at cmc that day

I came home and had a shower relaxed and sat thinking

I quickly realised I didn't like what I had heard so I got ready and came back to cmc on my bike

I was pointed round the back by cmc staff where I parked the ladies was on the bike I pulled up at 11am all three ladies was on the bikes sat listening to jay I'm not going to comment on the training it's self save to say the bikes did no more than 3 or 4 trips round the outside of the course in the three hours I watched  and for me no one would learn from novice to rider with so little actual riding time

Diane was happy to see me there her comment to me was that she was glad I had come back after first meeting jay as he was vile she asked me not to leave the training area as she was far from happy with the situation

Other comments I witnesses was

Shouting at other people walking buy asking them what he as done to get three split arses

On a similar shout to other passing people he said two PMT and one with OCD

then he explained that he is a silverback gorilla and his arms are here, women stay home bringing up the babies and your arms are used to being here

He then was talking about Vera who has two cataracts , who could hit your legs if she drove by and firstly kicked Tracy's leg from under her then Diane's leg from under her but from behind both right legs

About ten mins from the end on training my wife was almost in tears I saw this and walked towards her pressed on her Bluetooth and put my helmet on I gave her words on comfort telling her to take deep breaths and settling her down as she was riding if this is wrong well so be it but what would you have done if this had been your wife

I'm am appalled at the level this training sank to. Equality and diversity mean nothing

In hindsight
I feel Diane and Tracy was assaulted by kicking them both and verbally sexually assaulted with a barrage or unwanted and unwarranted comments that were totally inappropriate

I know that Diane is writing her own version of the events that took place on Sunday and that you will deal with this with the utmost urgency.
I look forward to your reply .

Paul

As Paul has said the day that should have filled me with confidence has left me wondering if I've made the right decision.  However I will not let one sexist pig put me off riding so I'm going to find somewhere else to do my CBT unfortunately I've got a bike I can't enjoy just yet but I am determined to pass.
I know that I was unlucky and am sure that there are some good riding schools out there so it's back to watch this space.

Determined to be a lady biker. Di

I sent a letter to the owner detailing all what happened on the day hopefully I will get a refund.

Paul you did extremely well not to wander over and lay the bloke on his arse. Sounds like he needs a dose of attitude adjustment.

Did you say you have footage of this bad behaviour? Maybe some of the things he said? If they don't refund you and apologise to Di, plaster in on facebook and I reckon it'll go viral... ;)

You must be a very patient / forgiving man Paul.  I doubt very much that I'd be able to sit by while some asshole carried on like that to my missus. Attitude adjustment, yeah that's what I'll call it after I 'clipped him round the ear'.

Mind you, I'm not allowed to 'clip' anyone again, or it'll end up 'bad' for me, n they're probably not worth the agro I'd have to go through.

Best way to deal with someone like this is to find a place that will treat Diane as a real trainee and get her it to it and train her properly.
highlight to all this guy/training centre so they go out if business as that's the best thing that could happen to them.
If they have a tie up with a dealer highlight it with them as well as it will be bad for thier business if it hits them in thier pocket they'll act.
Good luck with your Mrs and her progress onto a full license.

What about great uncle Barmy doing a few lessons?   I can see the School Heading now, "Barmy Bikers"  -  love it.  :stir:

I'm glad you have both sent complaints in & I would do what ever You can to let people know about this Pigs actions, so other females don't have to go through the same abuse & hope it ruins his business.
Hope she finds a good place & passes with flying colours.

Evening gentlemen this is Di
Thank you very much for your support we have decided to take this further and have contacted the police. If he had done this to a 17 year old girl they probably would have been put off riding a bike for life, none of us would like to think of our daughters being treated in this manner, I'm no burn the bra women's lib sort of person but that's not how you treat people especially when you are paying for their services to train you.

So I have rebooked my CBT with another riding school who knows what has happened and is appalled and said report them.

These people give bikers a bad rep and I for one know what a great bunch of folks you all are its just the few that spoil it.

So onwards and upwards and it's still a case of watch this space

Di

Thank you all for the support you have shown it is very much appreciated

Title: Re: Lady biker NEW
Post by: Paulpmy on Wednesday, 18 April 2018, 04:59 AM
Dear Chris

Just to let you know the details of the training that was provided by your company.

My friend and I Tracy were so looking forward to learning to ride a motorbike, we were nervous but excited at the same time.

On Saturday 14th April my husband and I visited CMC where we purchased a bike so that once I had passed my CBT I could continue learning, the salesman commented that Jay had said he was training 2 women on Sunday and wondered what he had done to deserve this!

My husband drove Tracy and I to the training centre on Sunday 15th April where we arrived about 8:15. Jay arrived shortly after and asked my husband if he would go to tesco to get him some cigarettes as he would need them with having 3 women to train.

He started to talk about how many novices make the mistake of holding the throttle too tight at which I replied yes you have to hold it like you are holding a budgie.  He replied you wouldn't hold your husbands cock that hard so you are hurting him, and if you do grip the throttle really hard you could rupture the muscle in your forearm and if you did would your husband wipe your arse for you.

When the third lady arrived he took our driving licences off us and took us to read number plates, Tracy read hers then kirsty attempted to read hers but could not distinguish if the last two letters of the registration  were OD or DD, jay simulated breasts with his hands to help her identify the letters.

My husband then left and we went into the classroom to start the training.
Jay started by telling us he got paid whether we passed/ failed or didn't complete the course and Chris wasn't bothered as he had got his money off us.
He then commented that if we didn't like the way he trained we could fuck off, this was the way he did it.

As we had paid for the training I just thought this is inappropriate but still wanted to learn to ride a motorbike.

At just before ten o clock Jay had to go and start the music off at CMC for the event that was happening there, he asked us to get him a coffee and meet him on the training area behind.

He got 3 bikes out of the lock up and assigned them to us. He commented that one of them wasn't taxed so only 2 could go on the road.

I am a teacher and his methods of showing us how to ride leave a lot to be desired, his manner was sexist and we could tell early on in the day no matter what he would not be taking us out, but given the amount of instruction that we had I would not have felt ready to go out.

As the event at CMC was getting busier bikes were coming around the back to park a lot of the bikers knew Jay and shouted hello to him, at one point he shouted over to someone what have I done to deserve getting 3 split arses to train, I find this highly offensive and derogatory. So by this time I'm starting to regret my choice of riding school but as I was with a friend thought lets just forget it and get this done.

He started to tell us a story about Vera and her cataracts and leaving the right leg down as we were stood waiting both our feet were on the ground he came behind Tracy and myself and kicked our right legs from behind us. This took us by surprise and we had to catch ourselves to stop us falling

As novices some demonstration of what he required us to do would have been beneficial. He spent more time smoking cigarettes and shouting over to other bikers than actual instruction, another comment he shouted over to a biker was I got 3 women over here to try to train two have PMT and the others OCD.

We broke for lunch and we reflected that not once was any praise given to any of us, as a teacher praise increases confidence levels and so improves performance. So it's a win win situation.

After lunch we returned Jay was talking to his wife and another couple, he said to his wife that he would be packed up by about 3:30 as there was no fucker around the front due to a brief spell of rain. He commented to his friend 3 women to train go and get me a fucking rope now, his wife did not look impressed with this. They left and we continued the so called training again Jay said if we didn't like the way he trained we could fuck off.

After doing a bit ,more training Jay started going off that men were apes and hold their arms in a particular way out from the side of their bodies whereas women hold their arms by their sides and this is for being mothers and having babies again another sexist comment which had no relevance.
This in my opinion was just another way of saying we were not fit to ride bikes.

Jay then got out the scooters for myself and Tracy to go around on, at this point my husband could see how upset by all this I was and switched the Bluetooth on on my helmet this was only to talk to me to calm me down as I was so upset. The day of derogatory and sexist comments were taking their toll and could feel that I was letting it severely get to me.

It started to rain again and Jay called it a day he asked us to come back later that week, Tracy and I said we could come back Tuesday and Wednesday after work. He said he was doing it as a favour and that he didn't put himself out for anyone.

He turned to kirsty and said for her to rearrange a day for her to come back for some more training as whoever had trained her before was a wanker and did not train her properly.

I don't use bad language but have written it down here to show exactly what he said.

On getting home I was angry that he had spoken to us in this manner how dare he. I am a 51 year old woman and will not be bullied by anyone especially some one like this..

If you think that this is acceptable for ways to train people then I would like you to justify this.

I was supposed to be picking my new bike up tomorrow but will now have to delay this.

I won't be coming back after work on Tuesday or Wednesday as I wait for your response in this manner. As far as I am concerned I will be looking for another riding school to complete  my CBT with and would expect a full refund.

How on earth is this guy still working as an instructor
He should never be let near a trainee ever again.
I do hope you ladies both get the proper training and get on the road asap and enjoy a full biking life .
Up here there was an driving test examiner that only passed 1 in 5 of the ladies who took the bike test once it became knowledge that this was happening it was taken to the management he was retired .
Women don't want and shouldn't get special treatment but should get the same fair shot as men .
If nothing happens from the company who run this school get M.A.G. or other riding groups involved as this kind of behaviour is from many years ago in the past and has no place in today's world .
There are fewer and fewer biker these days so the more people who can be encouraged on to bike the better .

Good luck to you hopefully you get a good result

Again thank you for your support guys this is Di
Even the police called him a bell end and have taken this seriously and are going to have words about the conduct of the days training

I'm not just doing it for me but for all the wives ,daughters  and girlfriends that might want to ride a bike and have the misfortune of getting him as a trainer. He should not be doing it as he has no qualities that are any thing less than vile.

So the lesson learned by me is trust to my husband who knows the biking world and who will be a good choice of riding school.  CBT now booked for 1st June as they are so busy which speaks volumes but Paul is going to teach me before then. Luckily Paul is an instructor who is qualified to teach and a ute who I qualified to teach instructors to teach instructors to teach. So he is preoared to teach me every night to teach me everything I need to pass my CBT but will not take me for it I need to show that I can do it myself.

So still gonna be a lady biker
Di

Cheers guys ( still love being on the back of the GSX)

I was a trainer for over 15 years and found that a little good humoured banter helped but this arse needs to be sacked and the ladies should have a full refund and a free CBT course at the companies expense on fully legal bikes.  Don't let this dick head put you off taking your CBT and learning how to ride a bike.

Hi mjgt its Di
I did get a full refund and the offer of a free CBT but declined.
Good humoured banter is good to put you at ease but this went beyond this. I know this is the exception rather than the rule and was unlucky, this plonker will not put me off.

Picked up my new 125 yesterday so excited for now being able to ride out on the roads June 1st can't come soon enough

Just read all this. Amazed that bloke could be allowed to train. Id be amazed if he could walk if that had happened to my wife. Good luck with your new biking life, good luck with naming/ shaming/ sacking Jay.  :furious:

Absolutely Di, but, hang off a bit. We're up to 906 members at the mo, wait till we're about to hit 1000 & sign up then, lucky 1000th member!!  :boogie: :boogie:

Being the lucky one, you'll probably get automatic entry to the 1000 post club!  :clapping: Very exclusive that & always a surprise for each new member plus ya get to hold 'the key' till the next one comes along.  :onya: I'm not sure who's got it at the moment, think it's Red.

Jay, I look after the Pies, Beer & Bullshit sections, :onya: but we still need someone to look after & take control of the wayward B/W brigade!   :stir:  Reckon Di could handle that section, as a starter anyway. Someone's got to rein in Notty!
