Title: Scumbags everywhere
Post by: lawrie on Monday, 05 March 2018, 03:51 AM
As some of you may or may not know, I, being the anorak I am, can't stop 'tarting' stuff up.
If so, you may remember this:
Spent  3K doing EVERYTHING, ended up like new, well at 0230 this morning my cctv recorded 3 hooded lowlifes walking off with it!!
I ALWAYS keep the gates shut, but they froze & something broke a couple of days ago so I had them open for the first time in years!!

Bastards. So sorry for you, after all that work.

That really stinks Lawrie, opportunistic maybe, but they must have clocked your gates being unlocked and having seen what you do, took the opportunity.

Hopefully the police will catch the scrotes as I would imagine that machine is rather unique in having the Lawrie restored aspect to it.

Still hateful though, as having taken the precautions with CCTV etc, they clearly didn't care.

So sorry to hear

Nothing worse I had my first big bike rd350lc stolen from outside my work on a Friday afternoon never saw it again I hoped for years after the scum who stole it had crashed and really hurt or killed themselves on it as that's what they deserve.

When I see stuff like this then I really wish we has "The right to bare arms"..
Seriously I could shoot them all and sleep very soundly after I had done it..

I know why hitmen exist !!

Rotten bad luck Lawrie. All your good work & spoilt by low life oxygen thieves. Seems the world is the same everywhere. They annoy me too much to express here. Line em up, lay em down.

Post by: KiwiCol on Monday, 05 March 2018, 02:20 PM
That's so sad Lawrie. I really feel for you.    Fecken mongrels, wandering the streets at 2.20am in the bloody snow, looking to steal stuff. Pit Bull or Rotty would deter them, but so would a 25gram bit of lead to the temple - delivered at high velocity.

I hope they get caught & you get your quad-snowplough back.

Absolute bastards.. Hope you get it back soon  :furious:
Title: Re: Scumbags everywhere
Post by: KiwiCol on Monday, 05 March 2018, 03:19 PM
The mongrels have to be locals too, ya wouldn't be walking too far in weather like that & for them to see the gates open & know what's there, that'd have to be done during the daylight.  Bet they come past again just to check what's happening there. Could be day or night they come past.

Sit up with a hot coffee & wait, just a couple of nights, have someone else watch during the day. ID them & follow them.
Title: Re: Scumbags everywhere
Post by: lawrie on Monday, 05 March 2018, 05:48 PM
Hi guys, & yes, I think they are local as well, winding back the cctv, a silver car cruised by slowly 1/2 hour before, coincidence? Possibly, but at 0200hrs??
Then a guy I know who goes to bed around 2-3 am, saw 3 mongrels pushing a quad-bike past his place at 0245, half a mile from me & heading to a local 'iffy' area!!
I rang plod, & don't they give you that lovely warm secure feeling, took ages to get through, then had to fight my way through the automated system, managed to actually SPEAK to someone who after taking my details, informed me that the department concerned would contact me in 2 or 4 DAYS, WHAT, you having a laugh?? To which she told me that they were very busy, to which I replied, 'what BOTH of them',  she wasn't amused.
I'm going cruising the area today, armed with a camera & if I see a silver car, I might nick it!!

just low life aresholes Lawrie. dont know if this applies but what we did. at my golf club they were stealing carts, damaging greens, put a few in dams. just wrecking whole place. our plan was to make it known in town our 200 plus members werent happy. posters up, let every shop keeper know to pass it on. one guy, viet vet, we made out he was camping on course friday/sat. nights with a weapon. high power rifle we said. word spread. one of the kids freaked out, dobbed his mate, soil on his 4wd tested to golf club. arrested n charged. problem solved. spread the word mate, any story works, two sons are navy seals, bro. in law is a detective. you have 800 plus bikie mates, us, on the lookout. scare the hell out of them. might work. i hope it does.

If you like I can share the info on a couple of stolen bike groups I'm a member of on Facebook.
Are you on Facebook?

I've put my neck on the block here and posted it on two stolen bike sites for you...It'll go all around the country very fast now.
If you get any updates, could you let me know please :onya:

If you want to inbox me your contact number so that if anything does turn up I can get hold of you quickly.

PS. Just watched the CCTV footage again...The second scrote to enter your property (with the torch) has got a gammy leg!! Should be easy enough to ID if spotted out and about!!

And he's wearing glasses Froudy, you see the reflection / glare in a couple of frames at the beginning, before they go out of shot to the quad.

Few Quad bikes have been stolen around here lately, and I've read of others going elsewhere seems there must be a market somewhere for them - but dammed if I know where

It's very close to you Lawrie..Could be connected?

WOW!
You guys are an observant lot aren't you, you saw things I missed, but also, upon watching more times, I get the impression that they're young-uns by the way they run off, not a 'mature' sort of gait!!
Spent some time cruising the dodgey-areas yesterday, & the wifes saying, 'he looks suspicious', trouble is, she must have said it 20 times down every street!!
Annoyingly, after 2 years of almost zero snow, last week there was about 6" & instead of 4hs shoveling I  cleared it in 10 mins, so my 'home-made' plough worked well & it looks like I get to keep the shovel!!
Managed to repair the gates yesterday, & realized that even when closed they can be forced due to leverage, (each leaf is 10 foot, 20ft wide opening ), so I made & welded-on brackets where they meet & now physically fit a large bugger-off padlock, the procedure now is, walk down the drive, remove padlock, walk back up drive, go indoors, look out the window, press button, ho hum. ???
Stupidly, loosing the quad is the one thing i'm not too worried about (apart from the 2 plus grand ) I don't like the things & only got one for a project & to learn all about them, I would definitely have one if I lived out in the sticks however.

Thanks mate, I didn't know there were such sites!!
All these youngsters seem to go around with there faces in mobiles, I even thought of somehow going on them & mentioning that a few hundred quids in it if 3 names were discretely given!!
But not being phone savvy, I don't know what sites they use to jabber to each other!!

Instagram is one of their favourites Lawrie.
The Bristol gang brag on there all the time. However, since we got on their case they've backed off now and shut a lot of their accounts down. In a way a shame as they were a good source of intelligence for us.
If you're on Facebook give me your name and I'll send you some of the links to sites that I've put your quad on...

Well boys & girls, its been exactly 1 week & no sign whatever from the boys in blue!!
We've done a fair bit of research & found that they are indeed extremely busy, just go on UK crime stats & see the horrendous numbers, its scary,  & in a way I feel for them as the 2 plod & their cycles ( read massive cutbacks ) have a lot of area to cover!
I am still amazed however at the fact that I received a fine the very next day after I was 'caught' speeding in the car at 35 mph in a 30 zone, hows that for efficiency!!   ( no, nothing to do with money, honest )
I feel that in the not-too-distant future, there will be a public anti-government uprising of some sort to get this more under control, people will only take so much.
F*ck democracy, we need a 'good' dictator, namely you lot & me, we'd have it sorted by next week-end!
( think scroat-loaded  supertanker, enough fuel to get half way across Atlantic & a big bung on a timer )

Thanks fellas for your kind replies.

Completely with you Lawrie... sometimes I wonder if we have the right priorities.  Fortunately we don't have this theft problem in Austria (at least not at the same levels as you seem to have in the UK), but I get equally pissed of at the police priorities here.  They are exceptional efficient at catching speeding offences and imposing on the spot fines, but seem to be completely inept at catching drivers using mobile phones (no exaggeration... 1 in 4 drivers I see are on their bloody phones usually texting).  Seems to me that all police forces have some sort of requirement for revenue generation....

I am certain that there are some good cops out there desperately trying to do their jobs... and let's face it, speed limits are there for a reason and I think that without adequate policing many drivers would consistently break the law.   My issue is the inconsistency of approach to motoring 'crime'.

Have to add... your idea of the supertanker is a good one, but perhaps is not tough enough.  How about gathering them up and sending them to a remote island somewhere?  Wait.... that's been done before hasn't it?   :happy1:
Title: Re: Scumbags everywhere
Post by: froudy on Sunday, 11 March 2018, 07:03 PM
I totally agree with you Lawrie...priorities are all wrong with a lot of Police forces these days.
Operation Buell has been set up by Avon & Somerset Police to tackle motorcycle crime in their area..Believe me when I say they are kept VERY busy!!

I've had no leads from sharing your quad details on FB..Strange as its so distinct.

One of the big problems with the police (and most other government/public agencies) is that they focus on hitting targets, not doing the job.  :furious:

Today a car doing a runner from the cops crossed the centreline and hit an innocent oncoming car, killing the sole innocent occupant along with the scum and their passenger. The cops will no doubt be in deep shit for this one.
What do you believe.....chase or not ??
Title: Re: Scumbags everywhere
Post by: Mick_J on Sunday, 11 March 2018, 09:05 PM
Chase, every time.  They are trying to change the law here on chasing stolen bikes if the rider ditches his helmet, cops used to give up in case the scumbag got hurt.  Chase the little shit, if he dies it's no loss.

Ring the appropriate hotline and report them as looking of middle eastern appearance and wearing a suspiciously bulky jacket....
suddenly other agencies will magically supply some manpower.  😃😃😃😃

Chase, otherwise the Scumbags have won as soon as they have stolen anything. What a precedent that would set for the Arseholes. You would not be able to leave a car or bike sitting anywhere that is not chained up.
I know that's easy for us too say that have not lost a loved one etc, but that's how i feel.

UPDATE,  UPDATE  UPDATE,   err, nothing actually, exactly TWO weeks & no contact whatever from Mr plod, the fellas in stripey shirts must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Been retired 7 years now, but were I starting out again, I think I'd be a crook, think about it, easy, free money, never get caught, & even  if I was, i'd be fed & watered, telly, warm, no bills to pay etc. etc.

If I put it about that I had a firearm, I wonder how long it would take to get a visit from those non-existent police!!!

Sorry to keep on about it, but its only now that I fully realize just how crap the system is, & its getting worse.

keep at it Lawrie. i knoe what you mean. system sucks in Oz just as bad. work your whole life for no help. bad mongrels just cry hard done by. every dollar i earn gets taken off my wifes pension, she ends up with not much. i work because i like my job. i should retire, build bikes for sale, i can do that stuff. then get robbed like you. would destroy me. hard to know what to do.

Whilst traveling along a main road in Tauranga today, I see two coppers. One was a good looking blonde thing. However she was dressed not be messed with, her partner was not going to let her be messed with. I was shocked..... 2 cops in one place. Both standing in the middle of the road with assault rifles.
You can imagine my glee. I stopped, got out, went over to them and asked if there was trouble down the road. Yes but we are getting it sorted they said.
Can I take a photo of real policing I asked.....yep sure they said. Are you allowed to smile....yep sure they replied. So I took 2 or 3 photos to show you lot only to find out the 1500 odd photos in my phone meant there was no more room.....I was gutted.
I said I like that style of policing and that it was a shame there were not more of them like that, also that they did a great job..... they just said "thank you."
Dealing with scum cannot be an easy days work.
