33 degrees at 9pm here, full on steambath. Horrible. Just checked London temp, 3. A happy medium would be good. Tomorrow our 5th day of between 35 to 40, hot is ok but humidity another story.
Snow, hail and sleet in Cardiff - 2.5C - that is tropical weather in Scotland !! :)
Snow and ice, average temp in the day -1 at night - 5 :lowside:
-3 to -7 here..
Snow getting blown around and -2 but feels like -12 in wind chill and im digging ditches and making drains ... its bloody cold !!
Just got back from the dog park. Now 11:17 pm - STILL hot and VERY humid...

Reminds me of "Good morning Vietnam"
When doing a wind up of the weatherman, he talks to "a grunt" about what the weather is like where he is:
"It's Hot and Wet! - that's great if you're with a woman, but ain't no fun if you're in the jungle" :rofl2: :rofl2:
Was the same down here Grog, high of 39 degrees & still 33 at 10pm last night. 😅
Yea 0630 and 24 in FNQ now 92% humidity
Just another day in Paradise
Sunny but cold here. Feels good after 3 months of darkness.
-17°C, nice weather to barbeque :clapping:
A nice mild 19 degrees in Cyprus today... Pity i'm on night shift and slept through it :frustrated:
We are now experiencing -1 in the day to -7 at night.
Windchill taking it to around -5 in the day to -12 at night. Dogs not too chuffed with having to go for a walk each morning. ???
Our heat here gone, hooray, nice 24 today. Rain has taken over. Around 250 mm last 4 days. Just on the verge of floods. If it stops now is ok. Another 200 or so will be floods. Just had 50mm in 1/2 hr shower, that was comin down.
Get the waterwings out & blow 'em up Grog. Pays to be prepared.
A nice warm morning today, -22°C
I have no idea what that would be like T24. What happens to water pipes, car engines etc.
We can do without these sort of posts you know-I'm actually wearing my summer riding gloves to stop my hands freezing as I scrape the ice off the car windows!
That sounds bloody freezing.
Was 36 degrees yesterday & 22 and raining all day today, which has been a welcome relief.
I'm looking forward to the Irish climate I'm over the heat in Oz after 32 years, the pubs are away's cozy over there.
always dreamt of sitting in an Irish pub all day. filling up with the local brew.
Currently -5 and snowing.

Lets hope it's not a long wait :whistling:
We've got bloody snow on the ground and it's March tomorrow :furious:
A lot is being said about Europes icy blast.

We had -19 in the city, and -25 outside of the city in the morning. Now it's just -11 in the city. Spring starts in tomorrow! :boogie:
The current weather condition does not support or deny global warming. We had the same low/high pressure in winter 1978/1979 As that was earlier in the winter months it was much more severe. In Germany we remember it as the "Snow Catastrophe." Our "Army" pitched in with tanks and helicopters. Many of the tanks got stuck. We are fortunate that it has come so late in the season. Currently our army would be hard pressed to find enough functioning tanks and helicopters to help out.
Bit like ours then :stir:
I'm wondering quite what you would do with a tank to help people in the snow? I have this mental image of squaddies trying to push a Nissan Micra using a Challenger 2 through the snow then some squaddie shouting er sarge I think this car is a bit flat!
Engineer tanks acted as snow plows but got stuck quite often when drifts were to high. Tanks were also used to evacuate stranded and sick people and bring supplies.
That all looks quite chilly. No wonder you winter your bikes.

Climate and weather are different things. Every time there's a bit of hot or cold weather you get people using it as an argument for or against man made climate change, but it doesn't quite work like like that.
It looks amazing & beautiful, but to live with that snow would soon drive you Barmy ;) Great for a holiday, but that's about it.
Almost summer!! Only -19°C this morning!
We are supposed to get +5°C or more today. Woke up to more snow though :happy1: I think I go back to sleep instead of shoveling the white stuff... it will melt away anyway. Tomorrow they forecast 10+C. Now hoping for some strong rains for a few days to get all that salt off the road.
Spring is coming!! Only -18°C this morning. How I hate this f...... winter!
Ye things are starting to look up here to +2c in the mornings up to +7c midday but a cold easter forecast :frustrated:
Finally arrived back at Bristol Airport at 9pm Sunday night after being delayed at Geneva Airport for 10 hours..Daughters wedding in the French Alps.
More bloody snow and had to practically dig the car out :furious:
Fairy tale setting for a wedding though and we had a brilliant weekend.
The Alps is a long way to go for snowy white wedding ! .... when we had plenty at home

Last week. Austrian Alps. -10°C. Not so bad :)
@grog @VladTepes We need a pic of the Gold Coast beaches for comparison here.
Northern... I'm heading for Kaprun to ski the glacier in a couple of weeks.... superb views from the summit 👍
I do want to see the alps again. Lots of good memories. Probably nothing I experienced there I am capable nowadays to get close to again.

Extreme skier or 'normal' off piste?
Ice and snow yes but on foot. Mountain climbing alpine style.
Love to ski, but unfortunately can afford good mountains not more then once in a year.
Last year was in Italy, this year Austria, Zell Am See. Drive there ~2000k and same back. Tired as hell, but like it very much. Good ending of winter. Next - waiting fro riding season.

Respect Jussi! We have almost same weather, but I'm not going yet - bike is sill in parts and I'm to tired (or lazy) to put it together over a weekend... :whistling:
Also, +1 is not pretty cold...
But I remember a times (10+ years ago) when I get speeding penalty in the middle of the march with just few degrees over the 0.
Ten years ago I rode (not for fun) in -17° weather. Put the Sunday paper under my jacket to keep from freezing the chest. Nowadays riding is only for fun. +10° and sunshine is the lower limit. The engine is even then having a hard time to get up to operating temp. Today (+13°) the engine finally got up to proper temp. The tires were not there yet however.
I'm with you Andre.... has to be at least 15degrees for me.... I ride to enjoy it... don't like being cold! By same token... don't like being too hot either! Had a couple of runs last summer in 35deg... not at all pleasant
I don't like the cold but will ride in winter as long as it's dry, today it's pissing down so I'm at home getting bored :furious:

35° and I dread every red light. 20-25° is all around good for me (as long as it is dry).
30 years ago.. During technical school, I didn't have car at all.. I rode years around with my Suzuki PE 175 enduro (with Husqvarna CR 430 engine).
April... Second... Spring...
This is how my car looked this morning... :confused1:
Hope it will not last.

my early ride this morn 17 degrees. thinking time for winter jacket to come out. guess im spoilt. enjoyed the ride.
for you poms
Next 3 days 23° and sunshine pure. :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:
Yep.... gonna be a busy weekend... between cleaning and putting the bike back together... the chores from swmbo (remove decking furniture, jet wash decking, cut grass, repaint said decking, feed the grass, replace decking furniture, fill planters with new compost) and watching F1 qualy and race ..... you can guess that stuff in brackets actually might not get done :happy1:
It'll get done, just a question of priorities, qualy & race may take longer than expected & leave insufficient time to start the rest of the list. :whistling:

Would appear 'they're' the same the world over! Must be something in the female genes. :happy1:
I am glad to not have to worry about genes but am only concerned with jeans (proper ones for riding) :boogie2:
Really enjoying my freedom. Doubt I will give up my freedom again.
175 km below +5°C. Respect to my missus who rode 110 km with me with her Yamaha XJR 1300.
+8°C, no snow anymore, almost summer! Mrs T 24 claims it's still cold.
Yesterday I had +34°C in my garage. In winter it was -24°C. Difference 58°C
My garage is my company warehouse. Big, well insulated building, what during winter is ~ +12 without heating and now ~20 without cooling. Only issue - not near my home...
Forecast tomorrow 28°, rest of the week 33-35°. Been dry for over 2 months now. Even April and May had record highs. Makes up for a shitty dark winter.
I was talking to my step daughter in Cambodia arranging a few things before we go visit her.
She says at the moment every day is 32 or 33 degrees in the rain !
I call that a sauna !!

Friend of mine went to Thailand. In the Bangkok airport he thought that the air conditioning was broken. Then he stepped outside and knew the air conditioning worked quite well :happy1:
We've been having 30c plus here on and off over the last month or so ...... YOU CAN HAVE IT !!!
I'll take a nice 18c all day long .... i hate it hot
i find 28 is perfect temp. love the pool at that. great for riding, not hot, not cold. last weeks little ride in 3, not too bad just my nose runs like a tap. bike loves it, just zooms. uses more fuel in cold, anyone else notice that.
Ive visited hotter places overseas and worked in hotter places here out West but this was our local paper a while back...

Yep, I noticed that too. Colder air gives more oxygen, the EFI adjusts for that by giving more fuel. Also oil temp is low for longer, EFI gives more fuel for that. Trips get shorter too. With the bike having more zoom we may be working the throttle a bit harder. For the winter, the stations here get different petrol. Might contribute to increased consumption as well. I use 1 liter more in the winter, even though I have not ridden in less than 5°.
Even on long trips mine drinks a little more in winter, I put it down to oil temps too. After all the handbook does say blank part of the cooler off & I never bother. You'd think they'd have fitted a 'stat to control it wouldn't you?

Agree, it should have been fitted with a thermostat. Today at 28° it took over 10 km (including some idling while adjusting tire pressures) to get her up to what I consider operating temperature.
Winter and 27c. today. London Summer 17c. maybe looking at a hot Summer here.
The regulating valve in the engine is designed to control the flow of oil through the cooler like a water cooled engine thermostat, even with a thermostat you would need to regulate the winter temps.
Even motor vehicles when we go and drive up in the mountains need some cover up to regulate the airflow to get the engine to run at optimum temp.
When driving in the snow I litterally cover the whole radiator to get the engine temp to normal operating temp, and the interiour heating efficiant (driving 4x4 trax)
Hottest day of the year...
Went swimming with my son. And what the f....!
Near my home, it was 36°C, and at the seaside it was 21°C. Just ~25km away. But what is worse - water was only 5°C!!! FIVE!!!! :confused1:
Nothing to do - had to swim in the lake.
P.S. Just to understand how hot it is for us - usual summer is 21-25°C here.
