So, me and a couple of friends did the Dragon again last weekend.. Given my health issues i thought this might be the last chance i get so i went for it..
What a good crack it was.. it rained, snowed, sleated and blew the entire way there.. What a great start this was.. When we arrived everything stopped, just for long enough to set up the tent in bogging mud and crap then as the last peg went in it pissed it down again!. Bare in mind this event is in North Wales in Febuary.. its meant to be shitty.. Anyway, just thought i would let you all know i made it back alive, i thawed out sometime yesterday..
Well done Jay - way too cold for me to camp this time of year! Glad you had fun though, have done the Dragon in the past (when age was more on my side LOL) and it's a great hoot.
:notworthy:
I noticed this on another website... a bloke of there went on his 300BHP wheelie competition bike
That's a blast from the past, did that around 35 years ago.
Good on ya!
I'm working from home today but had to put an extra layer on after reading this :clapping:
Theres never been many dry or warm Dragon runs over the years but its still a good rally and worth the trip , well i wouldn't do it now !! a ride from the north of Scotland to north Wales in feb is not my idea of fun But as i am from north Wales i did quite a few when i still lived there :onya:
That tents very 5 star.......whats with all the moth balls around it :whistling:
Pleased you had a good time, great photos.
Well done for doing it & having a great time. Damn that looks cold though.
I think this is indicative not of your physical ailments but some previously undiagnosed mental illness causing you to subject yourself to such things. :stir:

Oh of that i am sure!!
There was a guy there who was 83 and he was riding a bike of the same age (not sure what it was) he was there with his son and his grandson. How is that for something special. Put me to shame, dont think i will still be riding when im that age...
That's amazing Jay. Good on the ole bloke! Great to see a family tradition like that. Awesome. :onya: :onya:
If you have a few mins, this is us leaving the event.

Great scenery but too cold/wet for me, so tip me hat to you :hat:
Same from me :hat: well done.
I was at the thistle rally in the Scottish borders last weekend a special award went to 1 guy there who had done every one of the
thistle rallies the same last weekend in February in the scottish borders for
50 years.
:salute: :hat: :notworthy: :worshippy:
He went to the 1st one after he'd ridden to the Dragon rally but it had been cancelled so the thistle rally was born.
As we say in Notts Seth
'Different Gravy'
Indeed
I did 1 rally every year for 25 years but not old enough for 50 lol
