For anyone thinking of changing their 14 to have nice new allen bolts, saw this on eBay this morning, which looks to be decent value for what you get
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/448pcs-Suzuki-GSX1400-01-06-STAINLESS-ENGINE-FRAME-ALLEN-BOLTS-KIT-EXTRAS/231797436487?epid=852051337&hash=item35f8343047:g:wIsAAOSwgQ9Vt38G
Seems to contain most, if not all bolts you may need (can't check as there isn't a complete list of sizes provided)
@gsxbarmy Hang on a mo.
I got one of these sets a couple of years ago and most of what is included is not used on the GSX1400. Also most of what IS needed isn't included.
I had to contact the seller about the kit and give him with a full list of GSX1400 fittings. He did send me out extra bolts at no cost in the end, but it took a while to get it sorted out..
If he has in fact sorted it, then it's good value for money :onya:
So I'd say "caveat emptor"
£10.80 for the 30 piece engine kit here:

Hmm. Yes I remember that Steve. I wonder. Good call.
I wonder about any low-price offerings (less than 8 cent a piece the one and 30 cent the other).
Slave-work, recovered steel from a nuclear plant, "fallen" of a truck, low quality... :whatever:
Replaced almost all the bolts on my GSX with stainless steel. Started in 2010 when I bought it by taking out each bolt, taking it`s measure and then ordering them all in batches. Had them machined bij a friend. Not as perfect as Pro-Bolt but am satisfied.
What machining did your friend have to do, if you ordered the bolts? :confused1:
I recall replacing all the bolts on my old Honda 400 dream with stainless... and regretting it some years later because the stainless reacted with the Alu casings... a lot of the bolts were seized and took some work getting them back off again. Has anything changed? I guess a prodigious use of anti seize would have helped ... I forgot :whistling:

The heads are normally strait, he machined an angle one them.

Don`t think that anytthing has changed, haven`t had any problems yet, used a little coppergrease on the threads.
I machined nearly every single stainless Allen bolt like that on my Bandit..End result is good :onya:
Have replaced almost all on the 1400 also, just a couple more to do this winter.
Those machined look unreal. Perfect look. Mine arent but not a job i can be bothered to do. Yours are better but im lazy.
Thanks for the compliment. It`s a lot of work taking out and measuring all the bolts but like the result. Not lazy...other priorities? :laugh:
@BbigMmac et al
So does anyone have a complete list of the bolts / fasteners etc for the GSX1400 so that we can order these / get them made / whatever?
It's quite a nice look. I just couldn't be arsed as SUZUKI did a fabulous job :stir: :stir: :stir:
The chamfer means less wind resistance and weight which means better performance and fuel consumption, it's not about looks.
Yeah cause 50g of metal off a 14 will make so much difference.... :lol:

Taking a dump before each ride will have a greater effect. :whistling:
Or eat 1 less pie - sacrilege I know. . .
I replaced lots of bolts on mine yrs ago. Cant even remember which ones, local shop was very cheap for quality ones. Nothing to do with weight, just better quality. Now, at least they dont burr up, allen key type or hex heads. Not a major thing to do but yeah, happy i did it. Low cost upgrade in my eyes.
