Lately I have been "revving up" to do the fuel pump filter clean and possibly the hp filter bypass/ hole drill mod..
This may be a stupid question but does the tank need to be totally drained of fuel before removing the hatch that holds the fuel pump?
I ask because the instructions say invert the tank on a mat...
If there was say a gallon of fuel left in the tank would it pee out of the filler cap when the tank is upside down?
Thanks in advance,
S
Not a silly question at all Speedy...
I siphoned out as much as I could and then stood the tank on it's front end..No problem :onya:
I've done it with a fair amount of fuel still in the tank. No, it doesn't leak out the filler, well, mine didn't and there would be 8-10 litres in it.
I drained my tank with siphon hose, and leaved the rest gasolin in. Nothing came out.
Thank you all for your answers.

as long as the fuel level is below the fuel pump you'll be ok .
with the tank sitting as you have it.
hopefully giving all a good clean will help the running of the bike.
only thing is any fuel in the tank will evaporate while the pump is out so keep in a well ventilated area .
Good tip Seth! :onya:
