Hi there, bought my GSX1400 October 2016, been too busy riding it for the past year then thought today I should join a forum.
She's an original K3 GSX1400 I bought her with 32000km on the clock, aftermarket 'bars and Akrapovic exhaust. Original Suzuki blue and white paint job, otherwise in good nick.
I've replaced rear rotor and pads, oil and brake fluid change. She's had an aftermarket ECU remap and I've fitted a TRE also.
Now it's time for another oil change, new tyres front and rear, front brake rotors and pads and I want to upgrade to stainless brake and clutch hoses.
My last bike was a 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 in Tornado red, before that i started on a Suzuki GSF250 Bandit, the little baby brother to the GSX1400.
Will post a photo soon
Welcome :hat:
And yes, we like pics.
Braided (stainless) hoses are mandatory upgrade :onya:
K3 B/W, good choice. It's only one away from the best which is obviously a K2 B/W.
Braided hoses firm up the lever a little, but having ridden both I've never thought it's enough difference to bother. Still running mine on the original hoses from the factory.
Bienvenue Eric!

Good practice is to replace the rubber hoses every two years as they perish internally and externally. They rarely fail, but they get to the point where a lot of the fluid transfer power goes to expanding the hose and not into the caliper. Current braided hoses are teflon inside and braid outside = never replace again.
My daytona had braided hoses F+R, the feel was awesome, combined with PAZZO short levers. Will def upgrade to braided hoses on the 1400, they look trick and IMHO work very well. ......Now where did I plant that money tree.....?

Definitely lots of good things to look at and plenty of info.
I'm in Perth, Western Australia, so about as far away from NE Scotland as you can get
We appear to have members scattered all over Australia so maybe we should have an MCR that's central to every one. This year is booked but 2019 needs a destination.
I could start the ball rolling by opening another thread and a list of places to go but let's see if there's any interest initially. In brackets can be a destination for the Saturday ride.
So my choice would be the only place Lucky Starr didn't take the hitch hiker all those years ago .... Oodnadatta. Saturday ride (Coober Pedy)
BTW .... welcome Eric.
Sydney to Oodnadatta is only 2300 kms one way  my arse is feeling sore just thinking about that

Pete, put the bike on the tow frame, drive up in comfort with the air con going etc, 50k's from destination park up & gear up. Ride in as fresh as!!
Bloody legend!! :whistling:

All true Eric. But until last year I was with a lass who owned several 14s with much lower mileage than mine, apart from her sinstered pads there really was no difference to how the brakes felt. Hence i'm happy to keep the original hoses.
If it ain't broke.. eh.
Thankfully my bike came with braided hoses front and rear..
My thanks to the previous owner..

Lucky Starr probably shied away from the corrugations to Oodnadatta I reckon..
@Sweaty buy yourself an Airhawk pad. My (soft ass) Harley mates swear by them for a long haul
Being a (soft ass) endless, I have had one for over a year ;)
@Sweaty you big softy ;) they do work eh. I did try my mates once, considered one for my increasingly soft ass for big stints. I'm prone to being minimalist though, most gadgets give me the shits; also I ride horses so a sore ass is just part of the experience when riding stuff. Nice bike BTW
Also, Gday Eric! :hat:
Without going into too much detail ;), I have a really flat arse with hardly any padding, so I still get a sore arse even with the air hawk.
The more I say, the softer I get
Get a gel insert put in the seat Sweaty, or buy one of those flash seats on E-Bay from France, shipping is the killer for me on those though.
I should get gel inserts put in each butt cheek instead Col, that way i will have an arse for the first time and comfort as well
I am starting to think about a seat upgrade as there are a few good options over here, like ACM, Guzzler, Ergo etc.
Woof down a few more pies & schooners & you'll get an arse alright!
