A search around failed to locate a specific topic on this, and so I'm just wondering what you do with your riding videos to cut and splice essentially into the most interesting parts for uploading here and there.
Having entered the field so to speak, I can see the need to cut out endless lengths of boring old bitumen and the like.
Any tipsters here? Thank you.
What camera do you use? If you use the GoPro then the GoPro software is suprisingly good. Not sure if its any good with other footage but i dont see why not.. For free software it is suprisingly powerful.. Give it a go. Otherwise i would use Adobe.
I just use windows moviemaker... absolutely fine if you're only editing clips. I think if you want to enhance
Video I'm sure there is better software tho...
I have to download the clips form the camera using its own software first ... then edit in windows.
I got Adobe Premiere Elements and my advice is... don't.
It's a monster with a steep learning curve. Sure it can do amazing things but 99% of us would never need to do those things...
As suggested Windows Movie Maker is good but not sure if its on Windows 10?
The GoPro Studio software that Proteous mentioned(free from their site) is very easy to use.
I used to use Windows Movie Maker but the last Windows update wiped it out :furious:
I now use VSDC Free Video Editor...It works ok, but it takes some getting to grips with. I haven't used it for ages now and would struggle to remember how to

Don't think it did Steve, still on my PC (Windows 10 fully up to date) - all they did was rename it - Now called Windows Live Movie Maker.
Hmmm..strange.
I'll have another look for it :onya:
Might have also put it in another place. They keep doing this

:happy1:
Look for moviemaker.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery
:onya:
I have done lots of videos of our rides over the years and use Power Director by Cyberlink - great program and intuitive. I have three cameras on the bike all remote controlled. Both GoPros and a Sony - great shots when picture in picture between front and rear facing shots.
Its great catching the adventure and finding suitable tunes to go with it all for all the riders.

Just had a look on my Win 10 for this, it's not there. Looked online & found it free to download for Win 10. Done that, so will be having a play with it, might be some short Vid's being posted. (or linked?)
Make them, upload them to youtube and then post the link here.
If they are GSX1400 videos then I am making a GSX1400 forum channel so we can work out a way to upload there if you don't want to set one up of your own.
Up to you anyway.
It's not in my version of Win 10 either.

I looked for Windows Movie Maker in search and it said:
Quote
Windows Movie Maker is no longer available for download
- Windows Movie Maker, part of Windows Essentials 2012, isn't supported on Windows 10. Websites that offer free downloads of Movie Maker are not offering the real thing, and those downloads may contain malware, viruses, or hidden costs.
- Instead, try making movies with the Photos app that comes with Windows 10. The latest version includes the ability to create videos with music, text, motion, filters, and 3D effects.
Yes Windows Live Movie Maker is available for download - but that seems to be for Win 7.
I have no idea what MS are saying when they state
QuoteInstead, try making movies with the Photos app that comes with Windows 10
Here it is Mick,
https://www.windows-movie-maker.org/
I've installed it, seems genuine & no issues with AVG checking it.
same. thanks for the link.

No more you tube video editor since 09/2017.

Great to have a GSX1400 channel @vlad :onya:
Searched my W10 and it wasn't there.
Just installing it now...See how it goes :onya:
I can't get it to work, can't figure it out at all. I've used an editor before, but this one isn't co-operating at all with my files.
Seems to work ok for me Col..Well so far anyway :onya:
For anyone that wants a copy of the now discontinued GoPro Studio Software, you can get it here https://gopro-studio.en.softonic.com/
Or, just ask me and i can send you a copy.. I could put it here but dont want to use too much of our server space.
I didn't realise it had been discontinued - what have GoPro replaced it with anything better?
No, in fact the GoPro community is absolutely disgusted as they have replaced it with Quik and compared to Studio its shite.
I've got the windows editor working now, just have to learn how to do stuff with it. Saved a couple of projects, so getting there.
For some reason though, Windows is playing my videos at faster than normal speed. Speed says 1, but I have to slow it down to .667 for it to be at the right speed. If I play the same file through Quicktime, it's fine. Gotta be something in the windows file making it read / play 1/3 too fast.
Mind you, makes the ride look good, flying round the hairpins & corners.
Forget all those programmes ....just go with Power Director!
