ignore battery , any recommend for the state as picture?
Hi, what's that 10.8 in the pink numbers? Not a Volt meter is it? If it is, you're battery is seriously flat, which would explain the "chec" on the speedo.
Hi Kiwicol :
yes, you are right , the pink numbers are volt meter but there have tolerance on the meter, so the real volt is 11.3-4V measured directly from battery.
A battery that's 11.3 - 11.4 is flat. The battery should be 12.6 volts approx. if it's in good condition & fully charged. If yours is dropping to 11.3 (showing 10.8) by just turning the key on (headlight comes on & ecu power up, fuel pump starts) it probably hasn't got enough left to start the bike.
If it were mine, I'd remove the battery, and depending on it's age, either do a rejuvenate charge or replace it.
What is the issue anyway? Bike won't start? Just comes up chec? It can also be caused by a faulty clutch switch, having the kill switch in the wrong position, lots of things.
You haven't really given us much to go on with just a pic.
As Col says - what is the issue?
If, as you say, putting battery to one side (and Col is bang on in what he says), then Chec showing is usually down to the Kill switch being in the wrong position or the clutch switch having failed or the sidestand switch having failed.
More info please, then we may be able to assist
im confused, only had a couple of beers. if your meter has that much variance, throw it in the bin. more info on your prob required.
I don't know why that voltmeter is as bad as you say it is, but you can buy a really good one for a few dollars these days. I would suggest to get one and measure your battery voltage properly.
If the fault isn't the battery, at least you'll have a useful new tool.
Hi Guys :
thanks for all of your information and suggestion, I fixed the issue when turned the kill switch back again......
cheers
Well done mate. Ill bet that everyone on here has gone to start their bike with kill switch on. BTW, invest in a new multimeter. I find Taiwanese stuff great quality.
to Grog :
agree, but to be honest.
made in China will growth to qualify and cheap in the future.
damm.......~!~
Glad it's sorted :onya:
You're not the first and certainly won't be the last person to be caught out by the kill switch ;)
Looks that way with China. They are throwing out their elbows for a while in different areas. But one never knows for sure how things will develop there (or anywhere). Wouldn't be surprised if their government's hard hand might throw them back hard some day. Or DonaldDuck confuses the red button on his TV-remote with a kill switch.
i buy lots from ebay, always prefer taiwan to china. post is also very much quicker. usually 6 week china, only 2 taiwan. i have 3 thh helmets from taiwan. best quality. win lots of safety awards, fit perfectly.
Taiwanese Helmets ? something like M2R? it`s very cheap in Taiwan. you know there are a lot of scooters than motos in Taiwan.
please see the picture as below,
Hey Bourne, what does the picture show? Normal stop at a traffic light?

Hi guys :
the picture shows Taiwanese daily life on AM7:30-AM9:00 and PM5:30-PM7:00 Monday to Friday, welcome to see the scenery in Taiwan..... scooters just stop to waiting for the green light . I was one of them before , but now I am a "oil cooling monster" rider now.
"oil cooling monster" is the nick name in Taiwan for GSX1400.
Just crazy traffic volume. Would be worse if they were all driving cars. :frustrated:
Very fitting name for the 14. I am sure that name sounds very snappy in the Taiwanese language!?
