Title: Too Hot
Post by: grog on Saturday, 30 December 2017, 07:13 PM
Tomorrow had a decent ride planned. Weather is just too hot/ humid to go. Might seem strange to nthn people. Just torture to put riding gear on. Thunderstorms etc predicted, just no fun. Back to the pool i guess. Sitting here at 7pm, shorts only, just out of water, still sweating. Bloody summer.

I know what you mean Grog, even here in the summer it can be unpleasantly hot, especially if on busy roads.
Off to the footy this pm so will be fully togged up for the cold!

Just looked at outside temp gauge: 11°
But windy and wet. That's how it's been for the last 2 months. Rarely a dry day  :furious:

It's balls off a brass monkey here.

Which dates back to the days of sail & the 'brass monkeys' where the stands cannonballs were stored on by the guns. When the brass contracted more from the cold than the iron balls the balls didn't fit & fell off.

You are correct Hooli - it is a John Bird / Idi Amin quote along with many other classics from the Collected Broadcasts
