why is today black friday?
Black Friday (as I understand it) is always the day after Thanksgiving in the US Grog - whether that is the same in the UK, I don't know, but somehow the "Black Friday" day seems to have crept across the pond to the UK.

My understanding of it is it's traditionally the day shops in the US got their balance sheets back in the black as spending increased towards xmas.
We dont actually have black friday in the uk anymore after several people were injured during previous years fight for bargains.. What we now have ended up with is black friday week... or 'Black Tag events' there are upsides and down to this but hey.... Some stores still do the single day thing but not the big ones that are likely to see riots for cheap TVs and blow up dolls.
