Title: Wheel bearing replacement
Post by: Speedy1959 on Wednesday, 08 November 2017, 02:22 PM
Hi All..
I get my newly powder coated wheels back later today (Wednesday)..
I am thinking of refitting the discs before I take to the bike shop on Friday for new Tyres and bearings / seals..
Just want to make sure that me fitting the discs WONT inhibit the mechanics for replacing the wheel bearings..

Lastly for balancing do I need to fit the sprocket carrier / cush drives or leave them at home?

Again, thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Speedy

You can fit the discs they dont interfere with the bearings and its better to have the discs on for the wheel balancing

You dont need the sprocket carrier

fitting the disc's before should be fine as plenty of access to the bearings through the disc's and have cush drive rubber's in when balancing but the sprocket carrier isn't fitted for balancing.

Yes to blood pressure tablets..
I have never messed with wheel bearings before and so this aspect is new to me..
I tend to be fussy.. I suppose the nature of my work encourages that.

Got to say the help and advice on here is 1st class..
