Title: Nice day but no bikes !
Post by: Tony Nitrous on Saturday, 28 October 2017, 02:36 PM
Put the bikes away and locked them up this weekend.

A short drive down the coast and into a nice hotel for my wife's birthday.
(You always look after your number 1 sponsor!)

Nice to have places like this so close to home.

..... and remind me why I don't live in Kidderminster anymore!

I've been here 13 years and I still love the place.
So glad I moved here.

6.30am on a Sunday morning....

The best thing about the Gold Coast is once you get to Tweed you know you're heading in the right direction to get away from the oppressive heat.

Hot enough down here for me riding a bike with gear on, my favourite rides are the Alpine Way, Snowy Mountains and the Victorian Alps. Live right next to beaches rarely go there.

But surely Stourport on Severn looks a bit like that when the sun is shining? And at only a couple of miles from Kidderminster would have saved you a fortune in air fairs :)

Glad that you are content in your new life though.

Stay safe and watch out for the insects crossing the roads in front of you.

Pete.

Best thing about Stourport was its near Witley Court, its on the way the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb and it used to have a good MOT tester (Alex Dorrell).

Many MANY years back there used to be bike meets out at a car park at Enville Common, some good wheelies etc, then heaps of folk blasted off to Stourport and parked up under or next to the bridge by the fairground.

Ah, blue skies, palm trees shimmering waters, it has to be - Wales???!!!

The GSX has been very neglected this year for many reasons but this was one of a couple of good days out that we have had. I had a day off for our wedding anniversery so we decided we would spend it with the '14 in Barmouth.

I do remember Envile Common back from when I was about 17 and buzzing round on a Z250. Everyone from Wolverhampton, Dudley and Stourbridge seemed to head there but it was not for me - I had just got my freedom thanks to two wheels and I wanted to go much further. 5 miles down to the common was not a proper ride
