Got the exact same thing on my bike - ran from the battery up the LHS of the tail section and used Velcro to secure it to the inside of the storage area - only thing is it has a red LED but doesn't draw that much and never had an issue with it not starting

I fitted a waterproof cigarette lighter socket under the seat Grog, that way you can plug in what you like

I only wanted mine on the bars to plug in anything in the tank bag
(Although I have plugged in my phone or camera in my jacket pocket
when I'm badly organised and set off witch them needing charge)

I just took the power off the horn directly below.
Live only with the ignition on which suited me.

I made a T connector that go's into the horns feed side,
and an earth that uses the horns mounting bolt.

Thanks fellas, will decide on bars or under seat. Great idea Tony, power from horn.

If you want permanent rather than switched power, pick up the orange wire off the ignition within the Headlight bowl.

Got mine on the bars but direct to battery with fuse, can charge phone in pocket. Charge intercom and gopro when we are away without any drama at anytime. Just easy.   :onya:

Hi Grog,

If you decide to go down the horn tap off path, spade piggyback terminals work well for the positive.

If you PM me your address I could mail some up.

Cheers,
Rick

thanks Rick. i have these , great invention. have you seen the fuses with piggy back wire coming out, another great invention. i looked today, so many options for charger. a waterproof? double usb with handlebar clamp for 8 bucks. not sure i want that, just under seat will do me. i bought a power pack case for phone, less than 20 bucks, phone fits into it, just press button and charges phone. had it 2 months, brilliant. used to charge phone everyday, now 3 or 4 days. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/For-iPhone-5-5S-4200-mAh-Portable-External-Back-Battery-Charger-Flip-Case-Power-/222460436825?hash=item33cbace159

Nothing fancy...
Simply as it could be. 5 amp fuse on + wire, longer bolt on seat lock goes through plastic clamp (old bicycle gear lever holder)
