It reminds me of school. Don't know which grading system is used where you live, I am using the US system here. The effort to get from a C to a B is much less than getting from a B to an A. The effort to get from Euro 1 to Euro 2 was much less than getting from Euro 2 to 3. Improvements in the emissions was substantial. Moving on the changes are more and more minuscule. The effort and the price we all will have to pay become ridiculous when considering how little improvement we get.
They, the lawmakers and bureaucrats, should shift their focus to other polluting areas where we get more bang for our bucks. By making car/bikes emission control exorbitantly difficult they invite cheating and putting our economies at huge risks by strangling important industries. For example, reducing just-in-time-production and producing more locally and nationally/continental will greatly reduce total truck and ship diesel emissions on a scale that makes current efforts to reduce car emissions ridiculous.
