Title: ECU 72kW vs 78kW
Post by: V_i_c_i on Thursday, 02 February 2017, 05:59 PM
I know, that some ECU have just 72kW because of laws in some countries.
I know that ECU marked 42F20 have just 72kW. But what about when this marking is not on ECU and is there just another marking? For example:

F8T95372
MGT048
1405

Have this ECU 72kW or 78kW?

Someone know how recognize ECU 72kW and ECU 78kW from that marking (without dyno)?

Sounds like one for Alphadave, Paul Tommohawk, Ricta or Lord Barmy Esq, IMO.

I believe there is limitter in throttle shaft in 72 KW models. I have seen a picture of it, but I havent seen it in my 72KW(now 155KW) German model K2. And I think 72&78KW engines have the same ECU, but models K5 onward there is immobiliser in ECU.
