Grog, as I found out there are times to ride and times to maintain. Not often the two went hand in hand, I always had a number of jobs I should have got around to, it's what always made the 14 such an interesting hobby for me, a hobby which I now realise with my Triumph I've lost.

Don't beat yourself up buddy, look on it more as sourcing items and taking stock of the situation. Now prioritize those items which absolutely needs to be done, and the "nice to have" jobs. No need to beat yourself up, look on it more as a project with work/ride balance

My 14 is slowly slipping down my to-do list.

Finishing off my house restoration (so i can move) is a priority.
"Bike fund" account is going to getting a new ute.
B-King due a freshen up, battery, service, Reg/Rec recall etc.
Save towards another newer road bike so the King can be more drag based.

Its a testament to the 14 that it just keeps going.
Its always been a budget bike for me but its serving me well even though it gets very little love in return.

Its never been my "Best bike" but I'm very glad I own it.

Yes, tell that to the GSXR1000K1 in the garage waiting forlornly for some love.

only a basic list kiwifruit. new f. tyre, new pads, free up rotors, service calipers. carbon fibre wrap f. guard. same stuff on tank, leading edges both sides, stone chipped. fix n fit crash bars. paint that bloody r. brake torque rod, been going to forever. maybe hammerite paint fork legs, same paint using on crash bars. running , handling perfectly. dont fix whats not broken. agree Tony, they are a tough bike. i wouldnt mind a rat bike version, everything spot on, just ratty appearance.

Works for me, more theft proof too.

Mine has sort of gone that way.

Walk past mine and you see a dented in fuel tank, corrosion to the fork legs, scars to the engine cases and levers, the wrong headlight and clocks, a melted front mudguard, wide Renthals, an indicator wrapped in black tape etc.

Look closer or know the bike you get a full Yoshi Cyclone system, a well mapped PC111, PAIR blanks, a recent chain, near new tyres, recently free'd up disc bobbins, fresh oil in the motor, many hours getting the suspension spot on for me.

Mrs Red has booked a holiday for next July, so any modding needs to be squeezed in Pre Xmas before funds become scarce!
I was planning on having Tank and shock springs powder coated but may do both myself now 👍
