Title: Engine oil inside the Signal Generator Cover ?
Post by: rollerfish01 on Monday, 11 September 2017, 01:58 AM
Hi all, today I opened the Signal Generator Cover (Crankshaft Position Sensor) to have a look and found oil smudge inside...
Then I ran the engine (with the cover opened) and there was engine oil spraying out, is that a normal thing ?

i don't think it should be full of oil but oil definitely get in there and thats why the cover has a gasket.

only a gasket if was damaged when you removed the cover and make sure the sealing washer is on the correct fixing bolt on the casing

check here for sealing washer locations on outer casings
