Title: Airbox + Pod Filters
Post by: Teufel on Saturday, 09 September 2017, 11:59 AM
I have noticed a few members have pod filters fitted to the front of the AIRBOX (not plenum)

I was doing an engine swap for a friend recently and after a discussion during which he extolled the virtues of extra air etc. I reluctantly agreed to reattach the pod filters to the airbox.
I noticed there seemed to be a diagonal partition in the airbox, so I had a peek inside another one I had on the shelf.
If you remove the air filter you can clearly see a partition all the way across the with just a tiny hole in the middle at the bottom.
I can only assume that the space is made available so the gearbox breather can breathe without the offending oily shit ever being sucked directly into the intake.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Any other ideas?
