Title: Electric cars
Post by: Paulpmy on Friday, 08 September 2017, 04:00 AM
I've just seen the news

Jag has announced that all there cars will either be fully electric of hybrid by 2020

Has this idiot in government worked out the drain on the national grid when we all have to have electric cars

I think we will be back on power cuts

Which means flat batteries in a morning we not be able to work and the economy will grind to a holt

Give this idiot a mbe or a blue peter badge or something because I can't think of anything better for keeping us all off work

Nob head !!!!!!!

Don't know this guy but he is obviously an inmate in a locked mental ward. Maybe someone should furnish him with a current calendar?

Answer, build more nuclear power stations n deliver the spent fuel to North Korea n ISIS on the tip of an ICBM.  Wrong? Probably. I always get this stuff wrong.

I used to work for National Grid, and have to say that (IMO) the chances of blackouts due to excessive demand is extremely unlikely, if not impossible, there is more than sufficient capacity to cater for cars etc "going electric".

Can't see the point of electric cars.
All the wires will get tangled when they overtake each other won't they?  ???

I reckon electric cars will be the betamax of the auto world. Hydrogen is the way forward, met police  are field testing hydrogen powered scoots & Nissan are field testing hydrogen powered cars in Denmark.

I had a conversation with a geologist that worked for a gold mining company in NZ's South  ISland. He assured me that electric  vehicles will be worse for the planet not better when all is considered.
He said Hydrogen would be the way forward. Facinating bloke to talk with.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology is the way to go. Why it does not generate the "hype" of electric/hybrid is beyond me.

Metropolitan Police Service, London's world-famous police force, has started trialling hydrogen fuel cell scooters as part of a wider programme to reduce its emissions.

Suzuki has loaned the seven Burgman motorcycles to the organisation free of charge. They will be based at Alperton Deployment Centre during the 18-month trial and will be used by Police Community Support Officers within the Road and Transport Policing Command.

If you were rostered to ride that, you'd be too embarrassed to turn up for work!

I'm not anti police, but in a society of folk who don't give a f#ck and have no respect for the law, sticking cops on stupid environmentally correct vehicles is just taking the piss. Cops have a bad enough job without being given dumb arse vehicles.
