Title: Gilles TCA B6 chain adjuster
Post by: 370steve on Tuesday, 05 September 2017, 05:24 AM
Hi guys,
I have seen a post on someone fitting Gilles TBA B6 adjusters to a 14, Gilles dont list the 14 in their fitment, so i am
assuming that the adjusters are of of a GSXR1000, if i am correct has anyone fitted them to their bike and which model/year suzuki did they come off?

Gilles used to do a set for the 14, but they stopped doing them some years back.

On the old gsx1400.org forum there was a member the who used the Gilles GSX-R adjusters successfully - but I don't know which year or model. I'm not sure that the only difference is slightly differently adjusted chain adjuster bolts as I had a set of Yoshi GSXR1000 chanin adjusters on my 14, and they slotted straight in - so I don't think there is a specific year or model, although if I had to hedge my bets, I'd guess on earlier rather than later models.

Lot of GSX-R models. Look on Gilles pages or on ebay. B6 is type that fits. It is key.  :hat:

As a side note on these adjusters....

They stopped making the "pull" type ones.

They went back to the "push" type ones similar to most big Suzuki's.
There were several cases of the pull type ones failing on various bikes.

Yeah and when the time comes please post up how you fit them and whether it was a plug'n'play so to speak. And a pic or two as well, naturally.

I can show you some pictures of @370steve 's ... but he only used the GSX1400 arm in a Suzuki project bike.

some info from another forum:

came up with the idea of seeing if Gilles chain adjusters would fit in the GSX14 arm, asked around and was told that the  GSXR TCA-B6 ones would.

went a hunting on the web and found some NOS ones in the States going for $55 or best offer, so made an offer of $45.

offer was accepted, with postage and import VAT they are the sum of £68, which is 1/3rd of the price new on the web.

always like a good bargain.

AH OK for some reason I had in my head these were auto chain adjusters, no idea why I was thinking that.

What's the advantage?

What's the advantage?

Pointless bling and paddock stand lifters if you don't like lifting under the arm.

Both of which have no appeal to me.  Each to their own.
