me again, sorry to be boring but thats what boring old farts do. im very good at it. you blokes sorted me with engine/nerf bars. next question. what else is good idea in the protection bit. thinking fr. n rear crash bobbins/mushrooms for both axles. any clues on what is good or bad or waste of money. seems a good idea to me. should do me then, enough i reckon. maybe pillows on end of bars, air bags on both sides. advice always appreciated. thanks.
Best protection has always been abstinence, else Durex is highly recommended I've heard!
thanks for your help Col. Durex is sticky tape in oz. guess it would work applied in correct position. :rofl2:
Guess what it is over here . . .
My mate Dom reckons this is a Con
So I asked him, is this a Con Dom :rofl2:
...............and getting this thread back on track.... :rofl2:
I'd add the front R&G fork bobbins grog, save the bottom of the forks even if the bike just tips over. Example auction from eBay

After that there is not much - if anything else - you can do to protect the 14, short of having panniers on at the back to keep the rear wheel and cans off the ground if she goes over
50's dustbin fairing, bubble wrap and training wheels.
No....... Ok, go straight to the mobility scooter, high flouro flag, front and rear bumpers, soft fully enclosed fairing, reverse, sorry no air bag.....however its a popular option to place a small fluffy white dog in the front basket to protect you in the event of a serious head on with a fully loaded shopping trundler. :hat:
Don't forget your pillion...
Gives a new definition to the term 'cage drivers'
Dont mock please....... the guy has been watching F1 and seen them trialing the new Halo.
:rofl2:
Thanks fellas, very informative. glad you care. love your pic Tony, maybe a gate and can keep her in there. thinking about axle bobbins today. looked like something else id seen. skateboard wheels. tough as. so i bought a skateboard, cheaper than buying wheels alone. some stainless rod, nuts n washers. will make my own. spent $23. post pics when done. maybe not as good as r&g, but 200 cheaper and will do the job. imo only.

That is a spot on idea Grog - and will work just as well IMO (the way you are doing it is exactly how R&G fit on anyway). Brilliant. I love ideas like that!!! :notworthy: :clapping:
Rough fit up today. To me look same as proper ones. One question, rear ones, the axle nut will make lh sit out further, does that matter, are the shop ones similar. Do i grind out bobbin to make it sit flush. To me if its out further wont worry me.
I realize this is a rough fit but I would worry about the protruding nut in 2nd pic.
will be sorted mate.
I am certain it will :salute:
A thought that popped in my head: The way I figure you are doing this, lends itself to add a spring for damping impact. Necessary? Don't know.
Andre, have searched, no springs fitted in any brand. the knob thing is the absorber. as far as nuts sticking out, actually gonna fit dome nuts. they will look good, stick out a bit. common practice on home made ones. i cant see a problem, get ground off have served a purpose. stopped forks getting ground away. same approach for swing arm.
