Had another busy couple of months, found this 56 year old 250 twin BSA Sunbeam scooter in several cardboard boxes!!
Did everything myself except the aqua-blasting on the cases, just got the rear carrier & floor-mat to make, starts first kick
( Pazon elec ign ) & goes surprisingly well.

This cant be right, :stir: a bean can on the 1400 forum :whatever: even if it is a very well done rebuild from one of our craftmen.
Very well done as usual Lawrie. Just superb. :hat:
Your workmanship never ceases to amaze me Lawrie. Lovely.
What you going to do with it now Lawrie? Use it or sell it?
I still remember the quad snowplough you made, awesome. What ever became of that? Did it get used as a snowplough on a lifestyle block or farmlet?
just beautiful, seen your work before. put me to shame.
Very cute .....nice work Lawrie.
Love the glovebox.
excellent job
Am i right the BSA Sunbeam is a rebadged Triumph tigress or vice versa, got a mate looking for a badge if you know where i can find one.

You have pm
Many thanks for your very kind comments guys, & no, I DON'T use any of them, they are simply shoved away at the back of many sheds dotted about, I just HAVE to keep on banging, bending, cutting, welding painting etc. etc. To try & keep retirement enjoyable.
Quite correct as to the 'badge-engineering' , both Triumph and BSA brought out the bikes together, & both were either a 175cc Bantam 2 stroke single or the Triumph designed ( Edward turner ) 250cc 4 stroke twin, Triumph being 'Tigress' & BSA being the 'Sunbeam'.
I don't have a badge either so am about to try & make my own, this may well turn out to be a disaster, watch this space!!!
Beautiful work :hat:
Gorgeous :clapping: :onya: :onya: :onya:
First ever attempt at badge-making!!
A bit, shall we say, 'bright', but overall quite pleased, enough material to make several more, so might well try one a shade more 'orange-ish'
That looks superb Lawrie, is there anything you CAN'T do?
Lawrie
thats looks fantastic, please let us know how you made it, also if you do make another you could sell my freind that one as the ones on e-bay are a bit pricey.
Laurie.... you are one talented guy! Lovely.....

From pic 174 on, I cut them from chrome, & various colours of vinyl, stick em together, pour resin, let it set, apply vinyl, then pour more resin on top, when set, cut it to shape, then on to the linisher to get the curvature, & polish, simples!
It took several attempts to get it right & have a couple with air-bubbles, but also got 2 or 3 good-uns if you want one, let me know.
