I was looking for top box options with a view to making the 14 more touring friendly but I might have changed my mind now..
Seriously tho, do you think it's worth dressing up the 14 for touring or is it better to get a more touring focused bike.
fantastic
love it
perfect for touring in malta
I still harbour thoughts of creating one of these (see pic) but really having a Pan European for 2 up touring with the 14 just for me suits me best - and yes it is all about me but don't tell the trouble and strife!
That has just got me wondering about how easy or otherwise it might be to fit a Bandit 1250 full fairing, or at least parts of it to a 14? Anyone got a full fairing on a 14?

Depends on who ya ask Rufus, we'd say yep the 14 is a very capable & willing tourer, but Lord Barmy would say his Trumpet EX is better & Stoli & Pete would say the GTR is better again - which it no doubt is.
All depends on how deep your pockets are mate.

Looking great!
I like that full fairing Tim! Never seen one like that. Very pleasant indeed!

There are better touring bikes than a GSX1400, but if you have a passion for your GSX1400, what's wrong with making it suit your needs. The "better" tourers won't tick all the box's the GSX will.
It's a standard comment when folk mod their GSX's, buy a Sportsbike / buy a faired bike etc etc. Maybe some folks ideal bike is a GSX when its had a few changes.
This pic been round for years.
With higher bars and some luggage it'd do me for a tourer, IF I ever have a faired bike again.

Cool cos I love my 14, I do that thing that one of you guys said on here yesterday, I always turn round and look at the bike again.
I just ordered passenger foot peg extenders, modded the passenger seat and 4 pot calipers are on their way too.
Yes mate it will tour just buy a windscreen some soft luggage and a rack. Just don't leave them on when you get back LOL. :stir:

True - but it all depends on the
type of touring you want - as a motorway mile muncher the 14 is excellent, but put her on some of the goat tracks like you get in Ireland on the passes and peninsulas, and whilst she'll do it, she's not happy at all, and is where bikes like the Tex score.

Hey Rufus,
Be interested to hear a review of the 4 pot when you get them on.
Re the touring, as you say I spend way to long looking at my 14 and looks are my main driver. If I had to change that for touring I wouldn't tour. It's like having Denise Milani as a girl friend, you wouldn't put her in Nora Batty's clothes!

The 4 pots are coming from 'Murica! so will be a couple of weeks but as soon as they are on, I'll post a review.

Just had a look, she is well equipped for a good night out :whistling:
Oh my! but sadly it looks like she's been in an accident, the airbags have deployed :happy1:
Yes Rufus, but I'd say thats the second accident as they look like the originals were replaced with aftermarket airbags
Apparently OEM !!!
Over engineered Mamorys 👀
Thought id try a second viewing..........
how do i erase google history ?? :whistling:

I have a couple of tourers, which one do you think her indoors and myself prefer.
The Trumpy didn't get a look in on Wiseman's Ferry Road yesterday but I wasn't in touring mode took me all of 1 minute to get the boxes off.
