I've ridden a K2 with hyper-pro progressives in, it seemed a bit nicer under braking etc but as it wasn't mine I never really pushed it much.

I had Ohlins progressive's in my K7 when I had it - didn't really notice the difference.

To be perfectly honest I don't think changing springs in the 14 makes much (if any) difference. More, its getting them setup properly with the proper oil, the standard springs are no better or worse than aftermarket IMO - part of the problem is that the forks themselves are pretty basic. for instance you can't even get them re-valved (which would help make a difference by working with different springs).

Next time rather than spend the money on springs first, I'd go consult a suspension specialist and get my bike setup properly THEN decide (in association with them) as to whether different springs would make any difference.

If you weigh much below or above the weight that the springs were meant for, a switch would definitely make sense.

I am with Barmy on consulting a suspension specialist.

my thoughts only. i had mine set up by suspension shop. wilbers springs, didnt re valve but option is there. they are brilliant. said all this before but even ride home tonight, thinking how good is this bike now. thousands of ks later. no dive, unreal. i dont know if springs helped but shop said much needed. i took the advice and all good. not sure how re valve couldve improved them, was quite a few bucks more. http://www.racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Suzuki/GSX1400/2001-07
