Title: Indicators
Post by: beekay on Sunday, 02 July 2017, 12:16 AM
Hi Everyone,

I'm going to change the indicator lenses on the K2 to the clear type as were on the last of the FE's. I like this look and have already changed the rear light to the clear LED. What I would like to ask is has anyone tried orange LED bulbs in their indicators and were there any problems, such as flashing rate etc? I dont want to change the whole indicator for different LED type as prefer to keep looks as near original as poss.

Cheers

beekay.

I've not tried LED bulbs in mine but did buy some cheap sh*t LED indicators as the previous owner had took off the rear indicators and had them on the under tray just in front of the number plate. Could hardly see them. They did flash too quickly so would need the relay or whatever it is to sort it out. I now have CBF 125 indicators on my GSX, had a CBF 125 as my first bike, had the indicators on my bandit 600 as that had crappy indicators put on it by previous owner too and I hate the look of stock bandit ones so put on CBF indicators. They look pretty decent considering they're of a 125.

Never tried LED bulbs in standard indicators - however I know one person, who like you wanted to keep the standard look bought a set of LED indicators and transferred the innards of them across into the standard housings - I guess a slight bit of modification may be required to fit the small LED boards but it sounds feasible.
You'll need then to change the flasher unit to one that supports LED's but you can get these off eBay for about £8
