GHowdy gang, anyone using protection :happy1: on ya tank of course. I have noticed the side of my tank and the side panels are scuffing up a bit, must be griping the tank to hard with my legs :rofl2:. Most of the damage was done prior to me getting this bike, so me thinks I would like to restore and protect the wear area.
I have purchased the protective film and applicator, today from http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Altrex-Skinz-Paint-Protection-Large-305-x-1600mm/342366
And I'm wondering if there any helpful hints out there to get it right
Bagster tank cover - paint is so thin on the tanks it's the only way to fully protect your tank and the paintwork.
However you can also get 3MVentureshield which is a clear plastic type covering either for just the tank or for the bike - available from Chipguard http://chipguard.co.uk/kits/?make=SUZUKI&model=GSX+1400&fromcat=bike&preusedmake=SUZUKI
This stuff will protect the most vulnerable parts to chips and west, so clear knee guards, clear tank front cover etc.
Given 3M is international, I'm assuming that there will be a supplier in Australia, if not then Chipguard can probably post a kit to you but you'd need to contact them for a price. This site may help you track a local supplier http://solutions.3m.com.au/wps/portal/3M/en_AU/Scotchgard_Paint_Protection/Film/Support/Where_to_Buy/
