Title: Speed mountings
Post by: Syd Thomas on Sunday, 25 June 2017, 05:18 AM
:confused1: Hi everyone. I just stripped the front end and replaced the headstock bearings. When I took the speed off it was quite a tight fit on the top yoke. Now putting it back together there is quite a lot of play. I don't think anything has fallen out and is now missing from the reassembley, the bike is on a workshop lift in a clean workshop. Nothing has fallen on the lift or floor that I can see. Does anyone know how they should fit and are there any bspacers or bushes? The exploded view in the workshop manual doesn't show any.????

Do you mean the speedo? as in both clocks etc?

If so, it's two allen bolts from underneath the top yoke & yes there is play. I think they are mounted with rubber bushes that are part of the mounting plate (but it's been a while since I looked).
