14's don't have a torque limiter.

I would suggest try removing the clutch slave cylinder and clean the area around the clutch pushrod. It often gets gummed up with chain grease and grime etc. ALso check that the nut holding the front sprocket on hasn't come loose, its not unknown.....

mark the 14 doesn't have a torque limiter barmy is right as in most things 14 i would take his advice and not tell him hes wrong especially if your looking for help.
the thing you mention is the back torque limiter a totally different thing it helps stop clutch slip and help make the clutch operation smoother.

if given a really hard life they have been know to wear/twist in the past and from all your past posts your bike seams to have had a very tough life before you got it.
i would take it out and check its ok as you should see straight away if anything is wrong.

good luck

i do hope you find a new bike
good luck with that .
just for your info
I'm on my 7th gsx1400 having 2 just now and my wife having a standard 1 since 2002 .
there isnt a bike i would replace them with.
having owned the only alternative the yamaha xjr (only did 35000 miles on that)

i ride hard when i get the chance and also do big mile fully loaded touring all with no problems .one of my 14's has around 135bhp the other is standard both totally reliable.
the tuned 1 and my wifes 14 have both done over 50000 miles with none of the problems you seam to be having none of the other 14's have had any of the problems either.
which is why at your low mileage i say it seams to have had a very hard life or you have been very unlucky and got a very rare bad quality bike

i wish you all the luck with your search for your next bike

I agree with Seth, that you seem to have more "issues" than most with your bike, maybe it is you picking up on them as you say, but given the engines are pretty bulletproof and there a fair few on here that have had them round the clock, then that for me speaks about how reliable they are. That's why most of us just ride them, as their reliability record is exceptionally high and they are low maintenance.

Whatever, it does seem that you are unhappy with it, good luck with finding another bike as its clear you are not at all happy with your 14, low mileage or not.

That might be true Seth,

I have owned 2 Gl1500 and am now selling my modified GL1100DA.

You all should recognise the front end :smoke:

that looks great
a 14 front should work just great on that bike I'm guessing that's your standard front end ?
a friend of mine used a srad upside down front on his gl1000 trike i dont have pics unfortunately.

Yep. That was my original front end. Works good in it.
The goldwing project is done.  Ready to be sold. Need it to gain momentum for the GSX1700 project

really looking to following the big build 1700.
i got an extra set of throttle bodies as going to make them 36mm and a bit of head work/gas flowing should get around 150bhp at the rear wheel.

Hi all just thought to tag on to this thread. Just given my bike a shake down and am experiencing a clunk noise from what I think the gearbox checked the retaining nut and all tight. Still getting the noise under load. Any suggestions before I start to strip down the engine to check the gearbox.
Thanks in advance

Yoda, you probably have but just double check your chain. a while back i thought my gearbox was stuffed. was the chain, couldnt believe it. went from perfect to clunky in a matter of no time. new chain, just sweet. when old chain inspected, two tight spots, couldmt even find them with chain still on bike. i blame chain lube, they were dry. now use gear oil, as manual says . sometimes the simplest things. i was like you, ready to strip bike down. since using gear oil, chain has never sounded as nice before. vmx castrol, it doesnt stink.

Thanks grog. Working my way through it chain looks good but I am going to refit my exhaust there isn't a lot of room between the chain and link pipe. I contacted Seth he suggested that the clicking noise was overtightening  of the rear caliper brace. Spot on I eased it off and the crack noise has stopped.
Paranoia now subsiding
Cheers Yoda

glad it was a simple fix buddy
if all was working fine before then can only ever be a check and re-adjusting of things to sort out.
as ever always happy to help .😎
