Met up with my daughter in Taupo last night. I took all the brides riding gear as they are about the same size.
She said what we doing tomorrow.
I say we are going up the mountain on the bike. Thats about a 250 km round trip. The weather was shite but we enjoyed the ride. Only her second tide on a bike
Had hoped we may have popped out of the cloud....but not so.
We did manage to find some dirty old snow about as far as we could go up Mount Ruapehu.
Third photo is out the window of our motel looking out over Lake Taupo.
They breed them tough in New Zealand Colin. ;)
Number 3 son is off to Taupo for an ironman in March next year ... hope it's warmer then although he tells me the swim will be in a wet suit.

He should enjoy that Pete. Its a pretty big event.
Roads icy?
No not at all Mike. Quite warm really, just wet. Funny thing, met a bunch of people, 6 bikes all staying in a motel behind the Chateau
The shot in front of The Chateau, probably in a months time will be covered in snow.
I really liked that area!
Thanks for sharing Kfruit!
