found a wurth plug, part number 0243121001. outside hex or internal allen key. fair bit lower than stock, i know some have caught theirs. very cheap cost, less than 5 bucks.
Does anyone else see something wrong with this plug? I bet it doesn't have the same size washer as the original. - I would be checking for oil leaks after fitting that new plug :confused1:
i guess its the tapered bit where crush washer fits that youve noticed. just how its designed, washer crushes against taper and flat surface of sump. better seal than stock. it wont leak. why does washer have to be same size? wurth crush washer works perfectly. we use at least 50 per week. there is also another rubber internal washer that works with this plug. not sure if washer is copper or aluminium. standard is aluminium.
can you get me a few?
pm me Vlad. i have 5.
Think I'll also swap out the std sump plug for one of these on the next oil change. Thx for finding this wee beaut Grog. Now just gotta locate them in NZ for a reasonable price.
Col, wurth nz. cant find on site but give them a call. http://www.wurth.co.nz/
Col. I have a Wurth rep call in. i'll get two and mail you one.
Cool, thx.
was gonna send you one col, kiwifruit got it covered. aluminium crush washer also needed. must drop to bottom of taper.
They ended up being too dear over here mate, ($35 for a plug!) we're going to stay with std. No prob.
Col, something wrong there. My buying price is $2.20. Washers are 50 cents.
Kiwifruit said he had to buy a certain quantity of plugs & washers off Wurth, cost was going to be $70 odd, we only required 2 so deemed it not worth that much expense.
He's in Taupo this weekend (on his bike) & I'm heading to Kaikoura shortly too. Need some time on the quad, up the river & along the beach, with a few beers thrown in for good measure.
Got to buy pack of 5 plugs and pack of 25 washers. Only sell copper washers not aluminium. Said cost was $70.
I know Wurth stuff can be pricey but its usually good quĂ lity, I just cant justify the cost this time.
Thought you were in Taupo?
I am.......took all the wifes kit down as planned to take the daughter for a ride up the mountain.
Am laying in bed listening to the rain pissing down. Bugger !!
I just made bacon butties for breakfast on the road - we're off shortly. No rain here atm & Kaikoura has changed to rain from 4pm today - so looking good for the quads. Have a good weekend mate - even if it is in the rain.
